Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

I worry about Phoebe Waller-Bridge's involvement, she's a good actress and writer but I don't see this as her style but maybe I'm wrong. These days there is always a worry that legacy characters get ruined by well meaning but misplaced updates.

Hmmm, did anyone have a double take moment at around 1:08-1:09 in the trailer there?
Did anyone else's brain flash a "Millennium Falcon" and "Hyperdrive"? Or was that just me? :D

Showing part of the influence of the falcons design it seems.

It's the cockpit of a Heinkel HE-111, I believe.
Might be a cunning reference, like the droids in the Raiders heiroglyphs... or just a coincidence.

I thought aliens in the 4th one were bad enough but then I read the leaks for this one and… lol.
Yeah - 4 was bad but at least Lucas and Spielberg were on on board - neither are present for this and it's solely a Kathleen Kennedy joint. James Mangold is a talented director but this has dumpster fire written all over it. I'm far too much of an Indiana Jones fan to risk this being part of the series canon so I'm gonna steer well clear until the reviews hit.

'Dial of Destiny'?

Yup, that's time travel, all right. I would have liked to have seen Ford and Rhys-Davies used as a framing device. At the start of the film, have them both talking in a club and one says, "Remember when..." and off we go to the past with new actors playing our beloved characters.

Yep or a handing of the torch to another male led role, a mentor position. Would've been easy to do, and I'm sure there's a million young men who would be suitable to the role.

Give another young Harrison type the opportunity.

Isn't that essentially what crystal skull was meant to do but then Shia went full retard?

Shia was a bad choice. Harrison had more of an alphaness to him in his youth, it's why he has charisma and why all young men wanted to be like him.

Shia is a typical Hollywood cry baby.

A handing of torch could've still been done to a charasmatic, alpha, fun, Hardy type character. But I suppose the world has decided that character type is evil.

Looks like a computer game cut scene to me. Very digital looking without the filmic look.

The original trilogy was a classic, they should just let it rest now. The time to make more was the 90s and maybe early 00s when CGI wasn't so depended on.

Critical drinker had a different take on the trailer, I would post a link but it does the forum moderators would only remove it due to the use of bad language.

Looks like they are jumping the shark with time travel, deleting Indie from time and replacing him with a women.

His character could always have been re-cast and would have made sense for this one to be made as a prologue film, with Ford passing the Indy name on to a new actor allowing them to start a new franchise..............................................Nah, that makes sense so Hollywood would never go for it! :D

It'll be interesting to see how badly they kill off Mutt and his potential storyline for this one - are Indy/Marion still together, is Marion alive, is Mutt still around, is Mutt dead in a motorbike crash?????? etc.

Watched that and he referring to Doomcock's vids about the leaks from the past few months, seems pretty spot on with the predictions.
