Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2024)

Guess its just the start but so far not overly impressed by the first 30minutes or so. Too much cutscenes. So far it feels like its been more of an interactive movie than a game, I get that there is a story to tell but that can be done through gameplay.
Please tell me it gets better than this?

Not played it but immersion-breaking cut scenes sound like old technology. Half-Life introduced playable cut scenes which maintain full emersion throughout. Developers really need to play Half-Life and learn how to make a good immersive game.

I guess its an artistic decision more than anything, for a game based on a movie series I suppose its to be expected. Dont get me wrong I'm enjoying it and recently progressed to Egypt.
Still finding the intrusive cutscenes to be a bit frustrating. Much less so than at the introduction sequence but its still somewhat frustrating. I'll give them their due though, they are very well done even if I'm not a fan of the cutscenes.
I just dislike cutscenes in general though.

About halfway through Giza I think. Game is stunning and gives my 4070S a good test. I'm starting to dislike all the scorpions though! I enjoy the puzzle aspects to the game but some of the AI can be a bit dumb at times.

I've seen more IQ in a plank of wood! Can be played to your advantage when you make a mistake and alert a garrison though:cry:
But yeah, in my opinion it plays like a slightly slower paced Tomb Raider. I think I'm enjoying it more, the further I get into it. Not sure I'm playing it as its intended. I'm playing it more like a stealth shooter/Hitman style.

Similar to me then. I try not to engage in combat unless absolutely necessary but game lets those that want to create as much noise as possible to do so.

Why on earth did they decide to design
the worst boss ever created
And then make you do it three times (so far).
The mind boggles.

It's genuinely the only reason why I will never play it again.
I don't know which bit you mean? I was expecting some godawful boss battle and the ones I got were all ok. Played on Hard as well.

Was quite blown away by this, just finished on Xbox GP, I thought it would just be a quick put together game, was brilliant 9.5/10

my 3090 was doing fine with max settings and all path tracing maxed out right up until the Thailand stage.... but this area is killing my fps to the point of being borderline unplayable.

And now I'm browsing GPU prices on the web and going over the conversation with my missus in my head.
Your 3090 is doing better than mine!

In the intro jungle I'm at UW 1440P and I get 120-140FPS or higher with RT off, enabling max pathtracing and I'm sat 30-40 with DLSS on.
