Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2024)

Using VRAM (or regular RAM) if it's available is a good thing, and a sign that an application has been developed to scale with hardware. More data in memory means less has to be accessed from regular storage.
I don't know why they didn't just automate that part rather than making the end user have to google to work out what the texture setting was all about. Surely it would be easy enough to see how much VRAM the GPU has the set that correctly automatically. It would have saved a load of people wondering why they've suddenly dropped to 5fps.

edit: Or even just saying "use this setting if you have 8GB, this setting if you have 12GB" etc.

A 3070.

From what I've seen in most benchmarking tests a 4080S is usually around double the frame rates.
Mine's about 40-60 FPS on a 3060ti. On medium settings but still looks fantastic, and you can get away with it more with adaptive sync. I have ran into some proper stuttering at points though which I assume is the 8GB limit...

With this and FS2024 It's the first time I've thought maybe I need to upgrade.

My use is 60fps 4k maxed out (no motion blur). I have to hit a constant 60fps for BFI to work:
No resolution scaling
80% use 7900xt
13.5GB VRAM
10% 5800X3D
8-9GB total RAM (bare bones Win11)

The game textures are very high such as the ceilings inside buildings of the Vatican. However, it looks a bit bland & lacking effect.
I'm kinda looking forward to extra ray tracing options but will need FSR & if frame gen works well I have high hopes.

GeForce Hotfix display driver version 566.45 is based on the latest Game Ready Driver 566.36.

This hotfix addresses the following issues:

  • [Indiana Jones and the Great Circle] Some users may experience intermittent micro-stuttering [5015165]

  • Improved stability for UBISoft games using the Snowdrop engine [4914325]
NOTE: May also address issues with some other games that were unstable with R565 (565.xx/566.xx) drivers

And new Nvidia app update out as well, the update set Game Filter to disable as default.

Finished Uncharted 4 and started playing this. This game is brilliant and on par with Uncharted which itself was a brilliant game.

7800 XT, supreme preset, 4k with dynamic resolution scaling set to 60.

With the detailed performance metrics, you can really see how fast and well the dynamic resolution scaling works.

Downloading this now. Not really into the whole Indiana Jones thing but its on gamepass and I'm maybe an hour away from finishing Stalker 2. Looking for something SP to enjoy over the Christmas period, it was supposed to be stalker but I completely binged that before hand so yeah lets see!

Really enjoying this so far. I was a bit worried as it was a Game Pass day one release but it’s surpassed my expectations and I’ll definitely be finishing the main game.

On the final chapter. I’ve enjoyed it more as it’s gone on.

Not bothering with a lot of the searching for items. But done a few side quests, most/all in the Vatican and final chapter.

Egypt I’ve done only really what as immediately presented to me.

Probably finish it on Boxing Day and then the Xbox will be turned off for another few months lol
