I don't know why they didn't just automate that part rather than making the end user have to google to work out what the texture setting was all about. Surely it would be easy enough to see how much VRAM the GPU has the set that correctly automatically. It would have saved a load of people wondering why they've suddenly dropped to 5fps.Using VRAM (or regular RAM) if it's available is a good thing, and a sign that an application has been developed to scale with hardware. More data in memory means less has to be accessed from regular storage.
edit: Or even just saying "use this setting if you have 8GB, this setting if you have 12GB" etc.
