"Individual" club threads

I must reitterate my dissapointment at this decision. If I wanted to talk about injuries/formations/tactics regarding Liverpool where does it go? A small matter such as a Torres injury doesn't deserve it's own thread or SA would be cluttered with pages on that sort of stuff.

If enough people disagree will you reconsider?

a quick look at this thread show the majority in favour so far

I had no problems with the NUFC thread, hell theres only about 5 of us, it was nice for all of us to air our views, it wasn't that active but still nice, the shame is now with such a low number NUFC fans we will hardly see each other's post's in the massive threads

and I also agree this move will probably cause the very problems it is meant to stop

I count 5 who agree with the decision and 8 who are happy with the original situation.

and 4 out of those 5 are on the moderating team that made the decision in the fist place.

Just thought I would add:

probably not best plan as people could make it not work

I realise I'm being quite vocal in my opinion against the decision, but I would be willing to give it a chance, it would be a bit petty to go out of ones way to ensure that it failed. I would just like to feel that I had been given a choice.

well if the decision is made then obviously you have reasons but i personally doubt it's going to work out. i think it'll either lead to it becoming much quieter or far more cluttered. i think if you forgot giving it a week and just held a snap poll right now it would be heavily weighted against the decision. as weringo pointed out at the moment it's the mods & 1 for and the rest against. still obviously outside this thread there's no way anyone will do anything but respect your call but could you clarify that all matters regarding team affairs can now get their own individually titled thread or would you rather things like 'evra picked up an ankle strain and is out for a week' or 'sissoko loked unhappy in training today' are not worthy of mention anymore?

One thread for each team would have become seriously disjointed over time, different topics on the go at one time, replies all over the place, it would have become a right mess.

If a thread is interesting enough, it'll get the attention, as has been the case ever since the Sports Arena was created.

those threads were seriously messy and difficult for occasional posters

also we were losing the sense of community , Man U fans were talking to Man U fans, Liverpool fans to Liverpool fans and Everton fans to themselves ;)

That is something that we need to monitor and review as we go along, there were no real issues before these threads existed but yes it is something that we have thought about too

I don't get it? That's exactly what's going to happen now...topics all over the place, replies everywhere.

The individual club threads were "interesting enough" and they did get a lot of attention. If you want this to happen then why close them?

from a limited number of people, this forum was a vastly better place before, now I am not saying that these threads were the only reason for this but they do appear to have contributed, some may have liked them but many were alienated and driven away

There's a lot of opposition fans posting in the Liverpool thread, 2 of the top 3 posters are United lads.

The main cross-club banter comes in the weekend threads....

Alienated from where? The Sports forum? Has any actually said that they feel alienated and driven away?

As I said before, the weekend threads are where it's at. Anyone can post in them as it's for all clubs. I can't see any reason for anyone to be alienated other than the fact that there club doesn't have as many fans on here as others, something which cannot be helped.

trolls and lack of community were the main reasons

How convenient :p

I definately can't see any trolling recently tbh, except for that guy last week but the odd idiot can't be helped. Theres also a very healthy community from what I can see, a variety of different supporters regually in the weekend match threads.

I have to say, i dont really agree with the Decision to stop them. And i dont support any of the teams that had they're own Threads, nor was i really a major poster in any of them
