Well, just finished a quick run of Splinter, and I got 3 M4s, 3 Sigs and 2 1911s... so there is still loot, just something odd with it.

Also, has anyone noticed that they've really improved the shaders? Those body bags and the Mil Ruck (and more) have proper reflections and 'shine' to them now.
 
really finding it hard to enjoy the game at the moment

apart from the 'fun' that is running around and finding no good loot, getting killed instantly when going out of a safe zone or by someone behind a building knowing exactly where you are, constant bugs when they release new updates and features which don't work themselves.

I really really hope they pull it out of the bag as I think the game engine itself is a good bit of kit, it's just some of the decisions and mistakes they are making are really killing the game at the moment.

When DayZ standalone is released i'll be trying it anyway to see if its improved on the DayZ mod and unless Hammerpoint actually do something well for once I can see myself moving over quite happily to the other 'side'

pretty much it in a nutshell.

the only positive from this game of late has been the private server and the decent folks from JUSU and SD
 
Enjoy it while it lasts lol.. 10 days left on that server and its unlikely to be renewed at this rate.

Been playing loads of single player stuff lately, as soon as I get to the loading screen of WarZ i'm normally alt+f4'ing out and realising there is little enjoyment anymore.

Waiting on DayZ standalone but get a feeling it'll be just as bad as the current incarnation of DZ which is a huge disappointment, I pray to be proved wrong though.
 
We will be bringing down the servers at 4:35pm PST and expect them to be back up by 5:00pm PST. Additionally, we are still investigating a server crash that is dropping players to the main menu.


  • Fixed an issue with the server browser that would take cause fetching to take a great deal of time.

  • Now when browsing servers you will see 100 servers at a time and you will have a < and > on the bottom of the page to go to the previous and next page.


  • Adjusted the material properties of some items for a better visual quality.



Update: We found a new issue with the server browser and are now fixing it. New ETA 5:30pm PST.

Update: Restarting the server to add code to help us track down the server crashes.
 
So why are they bothering with these stupid little hot fixes when they should be concentrating on the more important issues at hand?

if your server is empty it goes idle, when the first player joins it goes through the long loading cycle and basically restarts.. Zeds will all respawn in the default positions, and the item spawn cycle begins.. which seems to take around 45 mins.

thats why when you log on to an empty private server there is no loot.

In other news, bullet spread is ridiculous now without the skill tree checked...I fired a SIG 226 at a target some 10m away and one 1 out of 10 bullets were on target, the others were off far enough to easily miss the head of a zombie. Worse at longer range!

I have nothing against paying to revive instantly, as long as when revived its far far far from where you died. Otherwise the obvious nonsense will happen.

Jesus they put that back in? Last time they got a right pasting from players for it....

Its a shame I had a good go at this again a few days back and improvements have been made, but I just think its all a to little to late, but hey.
