when did i say i hated it....i clearly said the way they released alphas/betas was dumb

if that means i hate the game as a whole then ...erm ok

Look at it this way. You watch any of the Youtube Uploads the Devs put up you can see they running a much upto date build.
The Dev team couldn't test the servers them self's so They released an Alpha with 30% map and 40 players max. This way they can stress the servers.

The Beta could well be a complete new Build you dont know what they have done. They could also very well know most of the Bugs in this Alpha but there not looking for them they just want server reading.
 
The games industry isn't immune from rush jobs.
I don't see why people can't refute the game before it's released, I mean these guys haven't got a decent track record with the game so far and all the stuff surrounding it.




Actually it is a linear progression. If that's what you were saying it wasn't.
I might be mistaking what you're saying though!

I never said it was? My point was about release dates and schedules. I know first hand what a rush job (usually enforced by management/publisher) causes.

Devs would love to have loads of time to do the job properly.
 
i don't play Dayz..we are discussing about the state of the alpha in this game

yet you just bitched about other people bitching.

Okay, as far as an unfinished product that I have pre purchased and got the benefit of accessing alpha it is fine and myself and many others are enjoying it, it wasn't stupid by the devs, but it is nice to see you've accepted you are bitching for pretty much no reason ;)
 
I had high exceptions for this game, but then I found out the WarZ developers are the same developers that are responsible for Big Rigs. :D

Actually it was confirmed on reddit the developer never actually worked on it big rigs, either gave to go ahead for a team to work on it or was just part of the company, had nothing to do with it :)

Ok guys any chance the nerds can just shut up, I think most of us are aware what a alpha,beta is we understand they have got the game out before dayz, I understand some of you dont like the game or concept.

But for the love of god if you have not played the game or have anything interesting to say please shut up. I'm trying to find out if the game is worth buying its pros it cons and i want those from people playing the game.

Not some ass who hasn't seen sun for the past 4 years. Threads 20 odd pages long and as only about 10 posts worth reading.
 
LOL everyone moaned when we first started this thread about comparing it to Dayz then they spend the first day comparing it to Dayz :rolleyes: I thought we were past that. Just concentrate on WarZ alpha and help em to ramp up a good beta and we'll have two great games.

Why on earth would you not compare it to DayZ? It is an attempt at a very similar game but trying to be better? The blind circlejerking over which you prefer or hate is dumb, comparing the two properly is actually helpful.

I compared what I found a bit back.


Immediately there are a few things different.

Warz Pros

- Much better Inventory/looting
- Much better animations/movement/controls, arma2 is absolutely horrendous. (Animations are good in terms of not getting ****ed by a piece of barbed wire, you run like a total spastic in WarZ.)
- Multiple character thing is quite nice imo, removes some of the threat of death(which some people may dislike but you still lose all your gear.) but if you are dead for an hour it is still quite annoying.
- Night time is much better, using a flash light is actually viable and the surrounding noises/atmosphere is much nicer.


DayZ
- Toggle crouch
- Turn your head when running/view distance
- Voice communication
- Leaning
- Night time is pitch black, doesn't look it in this WarZ, needs fixed.


The only thing I could add is the option for server turning off global chat on WarZ is needed and proximity chat needs ranged reduced and a lot more spawn locations but I guess we're getting a tiny part of the map so that will change.
 
Wow, there's been a lot of BS in here since last night :p how about everyone pack it in and behave like adults yeah?

The game seems more stable after the last patch, although i'm still getting spawnkilled too often. It's fun though.
 
My pros and cons between warz and dayZ

WarZ pros:
Zombies (although buggy) are dangerous and hard to loose
Inventory is a lot easier and faster
Looting is simple, no more looking in random little green bags for gear
Towns look like towns
You can't sprint forever like you can on dayZ
Sounds are pretty awesome
Lots if Melee weapons to choose from
Character customisation
Flash light is actually use full even though it doesn't get pitch black
Shorter day/night cycles at around 5 hours each
Better over all animations
Lots more pvp
Only head shots or head trauma kill zombies. Body shots just slow them down

Cons:
Zombies are hit and miss some take 2 hits with melee others take 50 but still one shot kill for head shots
Night time isn't dark enough
Looks and feels more Arcady than dayZ
When you die you have to leave the server to choose a new character
You can't swim so have to find ways around ponds/lakes

DayZ pros:
Looks a lot more realistic
Weapons behave more realistically
You run faster (although you can upgrade abilities in warz)
You can make camps and use vehicles
Lots more loot spawns Atleast at the min
Meeting with friends is far easier due to war server list being pretty broken at the min
Zombies never stop moving in towns ( on warz they seem to gather in groups and stand still)
Night is pitch black giving a massive advantage when using nvgs
Better damage system eg broken legs and blood loss (warz has blood loss but not as good)

Cons:
You can sprint for ever
Clunky controls.
Slow awkward ui
Slow awkward inventory
Everybody stops playing at night
People wait for server resets to come and loot
People hoarding weapons
People dying to get back to their dead bodies
Zombie are terrible no threat at all and are way to easy to loose

I have played dayZ every day for the last 4 months and love it. Warz isn't the same as dayZ even though its the same genre.
Warz is a more Arcady easy to get into game.
DayZ is more realistic and looks more realistic.
Both good games in their own right but also very different.
 
Pretty fair assessment by H3RBSKI, despite the bigger pros and smaller cons list for WarZ the realism of Arma despite its awful clunkyness would still lead for me to prefer it.

If WarZ got broken bones/darker nights/better zombies then I'd consider it but I can definately see me playing both although perhaps DayZ more.
Gutted DayZ isn't going to be on Arma 3 engine, looks much nicer.
 
thats the biggest thing that i hate about dayz the controls, just ruined the game for me...

for me from the 3 mins a time ive played of warz its just dayz with better controls and graphics, defo more arcady but that suits me with this type of game, its got more of a pick up and play feel to it...
