The resulting insect from that search looks identical OP. Surely you saw that before starting the thread? Not that you can be held responsible for it descending into an argument..

This isn't a horse fly. I also have splatted loads, been bitten by a couple and it's not dusty coloured. It's absolutely not a horse fly. It's too yellow.
