Tim, it was painted with wrinkle paint, when I first did it about 18 months ago it looked ace, it's a little bit chipped now though.
Right, this is what ive been up to.
First off I had to get the pistons and rods back in after having them out to get new rod bolts pressed in. Once they were back in I needed to stretch the ARP bolts to the required length
All done here, that was the part I wasn't looking forward to. The bolts required a scary amount of force to get the required stretch, but that's what is recommended so that's how it's been done. Using this method is meant to be better than using a torque wrench, maybe, but it's more nerve racking.
Next I fitted the crank girdle and bearings.
Then the oil pickup and splash tray.
And finally the sump with a brand new gasket.
The flip her over on the stand and fit the ARP head studs.
Head gasket went on next.
Then the head went on. It was a bit awkward getting it over the studs.
Mmmmmmm raspberry sauce.
Cam caps then went on.
