Integra Project

Just got back from my second MOT. Passed straight away after some fresh fuel and a slightly longer drive to the station.

That guide was really helpful Siliconslave, the lights were hardly out at all after that and just required a bit of minor tweaking.

nice one :) its surprisingly easy to push a car through an MOT as long as its structurally sound and the emissions are in check

I got insured yesterday and have done about 60 miles so far. I've never had a new car before, how hideously painful is this running in carry on? Honestly, i'm bored of it already. The car feels quite pokey, a lot more low down shove than I remember.

Also, I had to check very briefly as it was stuck at the back of my mind. Vtec works :D

As long as it's warmed up properly, one or two quick blasts in the 1000 mile running in phase won't do any harm.

Infact, does anybody remember the article that guy did on his running in method that he argued was much better than taking it easy for 1000 miles. That involved warming it up then ragging the boobies off it...however it was a lot more structured in the way he did it.

I know it wont cause any serious issues, the car had been driven for an hour or so before hand so it was nice and warm.

It's not getting 1000 miles either, it'll get as close as I can be bothered to get to 500, and oil change for some decent oil, then let the games begin :D

I think I might have a borked head gasket :D

Down on power when it's hot, little bit of a misfire at the same time. There's oil weeping from the HG behind the exhaust manifold too, erm...........doh!

I'm not doing anything until i have time to diagnose it properly, which can wait until after the weekend.

:( I feel for you!

I'm not really too bothered, it's gone pretty straight forward this far anyway. The good thing about the Integra is that it's just my toy, I don't need it to get anywhere so i'm not getting stressed.

Just a few pics after i've rebuilt it. The car was minging dirty when I took these photos, it was a spur of the moment thing and i'll be damned if i'm washing the car in the dark.

Those are actually the first night shots i've ever properly taken, don't think they have came out too badly all things considered.

The head is still weeping a bit of oil, i've got this weekend free to look at it, though.

Just found the videos on Youtube- search for Neil-ste for them.

Car sounds awesome, and I like the Stephen Lynch video. :D
