Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake thread

247 Amps X 1.31v = 323 Watts.

A 3950x running OCCT with the equivalent of large fft's.
145 Amps X 1.3331v = 193 Watts

Heh, did anyone saw the Geekbench results that the 10900F (the 10 core CPU) is slower in multithread than the 3800X and even the 4900HS which is 35W laptop part, both 8 core CPUs.... :D

It's just slightly slower than the 4800/4900HS - albeit those use like 1/3rd of the power.

But probably significantly slower than the 3800x if you compared it.

What's holding the CPU back is that's in a pre-built dell gaming system and while not confirmed I suspect the CPU is being held back to not exceed PL1. So the CPU is getting less power than the 9900k uses to try and power it's 10 cores - the result is a miserable clock speed of 4.6ghz and it's unable to use Intel's much hyped new velocity boost .

But still, it's losing to a APU that has 2 fewer cores and uses 1/3 to 1/4 of the power LOL - it shows that Intel desktop processors are nothing without high clocks and being feed with ludicrous power.

Oh.. so WTF is he on about then changing the CPU in it for a 3950X? If its the same Laptop it comes with a 3950X.

At the article you posted states "XMG APEX 15 will support 16-core Ryzen 9 3950X processor in 65W Eco Mode, the company confirms." while videocardz spin it writing on the headline laptop "with 3950X".

It has AM4 socket, so more likely to keep costs low would be sold with 3600 or there about and you can upgrade at 3950X by replacing the CPU, while
Roman had still one of the prototypes and the laptop isn't finalized yet.

If you jump on that company's website, you can configure your laptop order and yes by default it does not have the 3950x, you can choose what zen 2 cpu you want they are all desktop models.

Things can be even worse.

AMD: Hey guys here is a 8 core beast for $1200

Intel: We won't be outdone! Hey guys here is a 8 core beast *cough* actually it's slower than AMDs offering *cough* for just $2000! What a bargain! Last year you guys had to spend $3000 with us to get 8 cores, so go buy this equal beast for cheaper *cough* our new 8 core is actually slower than our last year 8 core model *cough*

ASUS/DELL/HP/MSI/ACER/GIGABYTE: Well take that sweet $3billion/year Intel compo payments that stops us/delays us from putting AMD parts in high end gaming systems thank you.

lol.

Intel: Hey guys we have some new Mobile CPU's
The Internet: what's new?
Intel: erm?
The Internet: Okay, what's the performance like?
Intel: It has that yes.
The Internet: what???? can we have a look?
Intel: please don't compare it to our old ones, or er? rrryzzzeen k?
