Argh, tried to order one this morning but the CC company decided I was obviously being dodgy and blocked it, finally got the order through at about 11 but obviously out of stock... hope I get it before the 6th - I've got Windows 7 to install

Oh bloody hell, I WANT. I really should wait until I get my deposit back from my old landlord first though - it'll almost exactly cover the cost of the 160GB drive.

no 30gig cheaper versions ?
Intel's first generations of SSD were only available with capacities of 80Gb and 160Gb. It seems like they are going to do the same with this second generation with the addition of 320Gb later this year, with nothing in between or lower than 80Gb.

I'm gonna buy the 160GB version; selling my 300GB Velociraptor to buy it. I will sell the Intel SSD when a newer better one comes out at the end of the year.

not 'looked' at ssd's for a while. Is there still the issue of the page file thrashing a sector of the ssd?

Compared to the early days of IDE HDD's £170 is a bargain
Absolutely! For the price, I think this will be the best upgrade I can do by a mile.
