Intel Arc series unveiled with the Alchemist dGPU to arrive in Q1 2022

I think they are valid observations to be commented on, but not with the critical vitriol shown in the video. It’s really not that much of an issue as made out, which I think really detracted from what could have been a disassembly video with reasonable knowledgable observations /comparisons.

The cards may not be as serviceable as others, but at least they look a wee bit different from the rest and they are serviceable.

It's YouTube, it doesn't reward 'reasonable' observations.

Perhaps ease of maintenance isn't something that concerns the casual consumer, but anyone sitting through one of these videos is somewhere between an amateur or manic enthusiast and probably isn't going to be happy with a product seemingly going backwards versus the competition.

Intel XeSS has been added to 5 more games: Hitman 3, The Riftbreaker, Redout II, Enlisted and Spider-Man Remastered.

Confused... if the card performs worse at lower resolution, why would they push a feature that lowers resolution, and how could it be better?

"Worse" refers to the scaling compared to the competition.

EVERY card performs better at lower resolution and EVERY card runs better with less work to do which is what all these features from AMD/NVIDA/Intel do, a lower resolution dressed up to look better.

Yep, MILD talks **** 99% of the time, but wondered if this comes to pass. (14:20) You don't need to watch the rest.
Do we know if Overclockers will stock the Arc 770/750? Cannot see any showing like they have posted the 4090 already.
(Thinking about it didn't Gibbo confirm that there was an AMD 6500xt 8GB and they expected to stock that, but haven't seen it)

Unlikely. Bet that store that sells FE cards does, probably a handful of cards. My gut tells me MILD is probably right.

The card suffers more from a CPU bottleneck than AMD / Nvidia, that's really what's going on here, i'm ####### amazed tech reviewers haven't picked up on that, no actually i'm not, i'm really not..... most of them are completely clueless.

Both AMD and Nvidia have worked around the main thread issue with DX9, 10 and 11, Nvidia have developed a thread scheduler in software that splits the main thread across multiple threads, AMD have done the same but the difference is they do it at the hardware level, the GPU's have IP blocks on them that perform this task.

Either way both Nvidia and AMD have developed their own IP to get around a fundamental performance problem with DX 9 to 11, Intel don't have this so they suffer the inherent problems with DX 11 and older

AMD's first idea was to create a new and much better API, because Microsoft weren't doing it, which they called Mantle, that is now Vulkan.

Do you think they are valid criticisms? I mean you have to hold all vendors to the same set of standards right?
how can they be valid when almost no one will be taking their graphics card apart, unless it's an NVidia FE card

so they made truck(s) to promote the cards but will only sell them in tiny volume? makes sense

Here is a visual representation of it.

On the left side DX11, on the right side AMD's Mantle API (Now Vulkan) pay attention not just to the frame rates but also the state of the left side, because of the main thread bottleneck the frame pacing is all over the place, so it looks and feels like sliding down a cheese grater ....

Intel's GPU's will feel like this in DX11 and older.
