There is also a missing set :D

Until CES the final BIOS won't be available and supposedly they will give exact numbers at CES. My guess, is that if currently the 285K has a 5% deficit against the 14900K they can close it to margin of error +- 2-3%.

I'm already running:

Intel MC 0x114
Windows 11 26100.2314+

The missing bit is the ME as I am on 19.0.0.1827QS

I'll do some testing with my normal lot of games 2042 / COD etc...

Hallock just confirmed in the live stream you need the ME for the performance updates and that's coming in january. So you need all three.

edit: Only in relation to the last line.

Yes, as per my comments, the missing bit is the ME.

Now that all the fixes are in place, I'll set about sorting the memory and seeing where stuff ends up.

Summary: If you have an updated install of Windows 11, then you already have all arrow lake fixes installed and your 285k should be as fast as Intel's launches benches claimed

Has anyone tested this yet? Tech power up says they are working on it and will publish an article soon that compares launch performance with todays performance on an updated windows 11

What do you mean tested?

What do you mean tested?

Testing launch day performance against how it runs today. Since these are windows updates you either need records of what the performance was, or an older and new version of windows to do A/B testing

Hallock was quoted as saying the 285k should be running up to 30% faster now, so we need to test that

No. That’s not what they say in the release, the windows update is just one of three components. It’s quite clear actually.

Ahh, I see. I'll wait for the review sites as I am not interested in rolling mine back to then. I'll the review sites do that.

That said, see my earlier comments about when it was released to watch the Windows version ;)

Hmm switching to Arrow Lake might become reality if the promises are to be believed

Zen5X3D still smashes Arrow Lake to pieces in gaming, that's assuming Intel's figures are even remotely accurate.

I wonder how much $$ Intel are going to have to pay reviewers to take the time do another round of reviews for Arrow Lake, or if they'll even bother.

There were 30% dips in some scenarios, those should be smoothed out once all the updates are in place. Realistic figures are 3-8% increases overall which he quoted throughout that Hot Hardware interview stream last night.
The final piece of the puzzle is the CSME firmware update which is still in testing and "should" be available sometime in January.

Increases other than that could come from developers optimising their stacks for the new architecture. The CP 2077 patch is something of an outlier due to the nature of the bug with ARL, I wouldn't expect a jump like that across the board should devs make any attempt to optimise further.

Hallock also said there will be more news to come during CES, I guess Intel will be holding some seminars (maybe closed doors for press) and events there discussing the topic further.
