Intel Core Ultra 9 285k 'Arrow Lake' Discussion/News ("15th gen") on LGA-1851

I've posted in depth about these issues - I've never said they are made up - but the actual reality of these issues is more like 10% of the hysteria and stuff you keep pushing about mass failures.

It’s not, the issue is substantial. Replacement chips are struggling to last a few months. Large operators are decommissioning 13 and 14 gen platforms wholesale.

According to a small number of unsubstantiated sources which no one else has reproduced or experiencing and isn't reflected in retail data - even after a load of people returned their CPUs due to the whole story blowing up out of an abundance of caution and similar concerns i.e. potential resale value rather than failures.

EDIT: As I said in the real world, fact, these CPUs are not dropping like flies but I don't expect you to take that onboard.

A lot of people are still awaiting replacements and refunds. Many big firms have pulled entire product lines because the failures and management costs are unsustainable. It’s reached the point where it’s cheaper to supply complete EPYC 4000 platforms instead.

The 13 and 14 gen failure rates are critical. So far that’s not the case for C Ultra.

Only that isn't happening.

The kind of businesses looking at stuff like the EPYC 4000 generally aren't running Intel 13th or 14th gen in production use outside of a small number of scenarios where they have specific needs.

i want whatever it is your taking...

please can you name 2 that have done this

Only it is and has been for a while now…

As above outside of Alderon Games name any company doing that - because the likes of Gamer's Nexus have looked into it and unable to find other similar entities experiencing the same issues.

No tech channel has been able to reproduce anything Level1techs has been talking about hence they've all gone quiet on the issue.

I wouldn't say that means anything. It is difficult to get meaningful data and realistically they just don't care once the value of the clicks diminishes. 13th-14th gen are very old news at this point.

True but if the failures were anything like as catastrophic as a small number of people and jigger are making out it would be all over the tech press. I've generally been following some of the community posts by channels like GN over this and they've basically found nothing when trying to follow it up - I dunno what happened to the CPU GN were supposedly sending off to a failure analysis lab but other CPUs sent in supposedly exhibiting these issues either didn't in their testing or were so badly broken it was impossible to tell what killed them.

Intel have admitted the failure and are doing their best to resolve the issues with varying degrees of success. Many are still waiting for reimbursement.

For those reasons the industry has largely self solved the issue by migrating away from the 13 and 14 gen platforms en masse. Once the replacements of replacement are being returned with mitigation in place, it just damaging to continue. At 600 bucks a pop plus down time is difficult to absorb even for the largest of firms.

Intel have addressed issues with the 13th and 14th gen, that is different to the claims that these CPUs are experiencing catastrophic failure rates due to these issues.

Few more bits arrived today

The issue remains. That which is b0rked cannot be unb0rked.

so obviously i now have to ask why? whats the builds for

Just curiously mainly tbh

Also to see the difference between boards, CPUs and so I can replicate tests between platforms (Intel / AMD). I'll do the same once the X870E Apex and 9950X3D once released.

Plus I test my setups, so I can see the differences in my daily workflow and games before thinking about swapping out my desktop.

Still not sure if I'll swap my 14th gen desktop out or not yet, as I need a stable system for day-to-day stuff and so far its been faultless other than some dodgy Asus software.
