@hlennie These are boards/setup for the Core 200 lineup.

I'm going to go out on a bit of a limb and say the Asrock Z890 OCF is the board you should be looking at for tinkering on the Z890 platform, I've been really very very impressed with it and thus far it has out performed the Apex but the latest Apex bios update may change that.

As for that money compared to the Apex, it's a steal.

I still need to run tests compared to my AM5 platform as I am using my 9800X3D at the mo but you notice the idle/basic web use power pulled from the wall is higher than that of the 285K systems.

Never used Asrock I always thought of them ugly.

I had a msi tomahawk board at first but swapped it out for an asus strix gaming I just like the bios hate the tax

Loving my Ultra 7 265K so far, Its so responsive everything feels super snappy.

I'm not bashing AMD fans, I had a play with a 9800X3D and even though its most likely faster (in gaming) it felt rather sluggish within windows for me compared to my 265K which is super responsive...like click and bang its there.

Wow, so you you binned off a 9800X3D for a 265K? At least you won't have lost anything selling the 9800X3D given how high the demand is.
