Intel has a Pretty Big Problem..

It’s not in the same space. The 13th gen was released right at end of the Zen3 cycle. There’s something like 25 months between the two designs.

I can catgorically tell you the 13600k is a better chip than the 5700x3d.

I literaly own and use both chips, on a daily basis lol, I have no skin in this game, if I thought the AMD was better, I would say so.

As I said I’d would literally pick a 5700 over any 13th or 14th gen chip. They are hot garbage.

Zen 3 is still a good CPU, its one of the greats, but it doesn't compare to a more modern Intel, tho having said that a 245K is not at all far ahead of a Ryzen 5700X in BF6 Multiplayer.... :D i think if one was to say 9700X vs 14700K or 265K for gaming at least they would have an undeniable point, its faster, it uses less power, it doesn't burnout after 18 months of use....

Pretty consistent 150 FPS (Mixed, High/Ultra/Overkill 4K FSR) Ryzen 5800X.

Damn good CPU still, no bottleneck to the GPU anywhere, 5 years ago i was told i should get the 10700K or even a 10900K for £50 more than i paid for the 5800X, because "Intel gaming" Techspot have it 25% slower than my CPU in BF6 MP.

@jigger is being a bit daft, but also not....

For one its 3 generations newer, if not something really is very very wrong, also..... again, not by much.

Edit: wait, i see what you're saying :D

I wouldn’t touch a 13/14th gen Intel chip for any use case and they should be avoided. It’s not a difficult concept.

Honestly i think the 13600K is fine, nothing wrong with it, doesn't seem to have the burnout issues, has good performance, its just a bit pricey still but i think that's because its still Intel's best seller.

I wouldn't know, as I bought mine before the 'scandal' hit the socials and youtube fantacists...

It probably wouldn't make much sense to buy a brand new one now, given the prices, but then it is also a few generations old.

And it may seem like a small thing, but AMD CPUs seem to boot a lot slower, and are slow and janky waking them up from hybernation and sleep states etc.

it's not much in terms of seconds, but it's very noticable to me and it really ruins my 'quality of life' experience on a constant dailly basis.

Yeah there are various reasons not to buy it today, its a dead platform, its not exactly that budget friendly when the 13600KF at £230 is £30 more expensive than a Ryzen 9600X which for gaming is much better and the platform has at least 1, probably 2 more next gen CPU upgrade paths.

I just don't think its a bad CPU, its a good one, it doesn't have the burnout issue, its ok for power consumption, this is probably because Intel's didn't push it beyond its long term reliability because they hated the idea of losing to AMD in gaming, again, despite this its performance holds up very well today, proof you don't need to push things that hard just to gain a few percentage points and look like you're not falling behind, that's what Intel were doing with the higher end ones lets be honest.

Nothing at all wrong with it, good CPU.
