Intel Haswell Refresh Processors Codenamed Devil’s Canyon – Launching in Mid 2014 With Unlocked Desi

Be really interesting to see what gains the new DC design changes bring about in terms of over clocking. 5Ghz would be awesome, and would be relevant for quite some time I would imagine. Heres hoping...

i like the look of the asus delux with the round heatsink :)
whats with the gigabyte black edition, it has yellow on it, not that i have anything against yellow, its just not.... black

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SOC Force Z97

This will be my next board, especially with the support gigabyte give there current force boards.

I saw this earlier, its quite nice, but they have done away with the G! sniper series though :-( and re-named it to G1 Gaming series with a red colour scheme, it looks like the MSI and ASUS ROG boards now, I perfered the Black and Green theme.

E series are soldered. It's only the mainstream chips that Intel cheap out on the TIM. This is good news for those that can upgrade to these chips though. Slight speed bump, new process but no die shrink. Improved TIM. These might actually be nice chips. Those on Haswell I3's / I5's might have a worthy upgrade option.

I don't even think they're cheaping out, I think they do it to purposefully limit overclockability due to plans to release newer chips with only a small increase in speed.

Obviously... That's why they have cheaped out on the previous gens. To limit the overclock..

Now Intel's attitude has changed toward the mainstream, even allowing upcoming Pentium chips to overclock and repurposed the Haswell chips for overclocking, including improved TIM.

These are going to be very nice for overclocking.

Taken from OC.NET, Alatar post.

Regular haswell and Devil's canyon side by side:
