Intel Haswell Refresh Processors Codenamed Devil’s Canyon – Launching in Mid 2014 With Unlocked Desi

Nice one, plz share your results when you get it setup

Will do, I am actually trying on air for the first time in years. Got a Dark Pro 3, and a Gene boxed up waiting for the CPU, along with 16GB Kingston 2400Mhz. Not figured out which GPU to go with yet though, in two minds as to whether to spend £500 odd on a GPU (i.e 780ti) when its so far through its life already.

I agree too.

BTW,did you get your Core i3 from the clearance section in the shop??

I remember seeing one on offer recently!!

Yes :D
Was looking for a part time chip to test my Z97 board, whilst waiting for the 4790k. Bought a cheapo off the MM, then saw the 4130 :)
Would rather have the extra threads just incase i wanted to do some gaming, will hold up better than the G3220 plus for £50 can't argue :p

There were two sets of Crysis 3 results in that review:

There was Watch Dogs too:

There are no minimums or no frame times either.

You saw that with the Thief results, minimums were the main issue.

So whether the results favour one CPU or another,we need frametimes and minimums.

Plus a lot of these reviews don't really say how hot the CPU gets when overclocked, which is another consideration here.

Edit!!

Plus PCLabs were using a high end motherboard and cooler combination, which means they are probably hitting the higher end of the overclock bracket too.

Second Edit!!

Regarding BF4 MP.

Only a few sites have done 64 player conquest maps like Sweclockers.

Many sites(like when PCLabs did their BF4 MP test) used 32 player domination maps.

The conquest maps seem to favour CPUs with stronger multi-threaded performance.

Plus with no minimums or frametimes in the review its not telling the entire picture.

Its more a £55 to £60 CPU! :p

Yes,for WoT and games like that it would be awesome as I said a few times.

But the problem is when it is conflated to mean almost any game.

BIG difference.

We saw this with the E8400 and Q6600 arguments, back then.

People have been saying faster cores for years, but I garner most of you would take a locked Core i7 3770 over a 6GHZ Pentium dual core if given the choice.

I've got a link where it's £50:D

I've always assumed it was an insurance thing, so assuming your order went over a certain price it would automatically go with DPD, no other options available.

I'm not moaning, obviously (get free delivery :D and DPD are the best)

Probably, but I get free postage from them,so tend to use them whenever I can anyway.

CS is certainly better than some other places I know off,and they despatch stuff quickly too.

Edit!!

They were only retailer to sell the Cubitek Mini Cube mini-ITX case too, which I use ATM.

For me to use another company, considerable savings need to be had. I'm more than happy paying a slight premium to use OCUK and their superior delivery service :D

Any problems, hop on the forums and a quick message in CS normally sorts out anything untoward. Better than i've had in the past, so yeah happy to give back (in the form of money :D)
