Temps yeah. According to 8 Pack earlier in this thread, a few guys at computex delidded some 4790k's and found out that the TIM is very similair to the stuff used in the current 4770k. The ihs is thinner though and likely less glue, therefore allowing the ihs to sit closer to the die.
Most recent posts from people trying to oc 4770k's still state very high temps compared to the figures in reviews of the 4790k. At stock mine in sig will hit 77c under p95, when i get the 4790k ill do a comparison, but generally the DC chips seem to run 10c + lower than current gen.
