I game at the same, but still have the itch, @ 5ghz the 8700 will beat our 5930k's O/C'd.

Makes more sense than going 7700k or 7600k surely? At least there's an upgrade path for more cores.

It's pretty much a 7600k in drag right, but it;s actually cheaper! £169

There's 10+ in stock at OCUK. One thing to bear in mind is I have no rig at the moment.

It's either that or Ryzen 1600x. I want to buy today....

Intel are launching a promotion on 6700K and 7700K with two triple AAA titles FREE which goes live very soon, as in about an hours time and with 7700K at £319 is quite attractive.

It only looks attractive because the £250-270 i5-8600K isn't available.

I'm sure there'll be someone out there that'll have it. I reckon I could sell it for 100 quid down the road no?

I'd then have the motherboard and everything, so I could stomach a 70 quid loss to then buy an i7 when they come in stock.

i3 8100 too, £110 for a quad that turbos to 3.6Ghz, can see it being great for budget gaming setups.

i3 8100 too, £110 for a quad that turbos to 3.6Ghz, can see it being great for budget gaming setups.

So it should get similar speeds to an overclocked R5 1600(X) for a similar price, except it probably has slightly higher IPC in most applications and doesn't have SMT.

Wasn't this 299 when it was first posted in the forum??? Extra 20 quid in the absence of 86 and 8700k???
