I'm actually considering an 8350k as a stop gap, am I crazy?
Makes more sense than going 7700k or 7600k surely? At least there's an upgrade path for more cores.
It's pretty much a 7600k in drag right, but it;s actually cheaper! £169
There's 10+ in stock at OCUK. One thing to bear in mind is I have no rig at the moment.
It's either that or Ryzen 1600x. I want to buy today....
And prices across the board...
This is why consoles will always sell in abundance
Been holding off on my build but now its ryzen all the way.. may get a 1700 instead of 1600 and still save a ton of money
I'm thinking the same thing, plus if you get a nice clocker you might be able to sell it 2nd hand for as much as you bought it for.
Whats the extra risk with getting a delidded one? They are delidded.
So plenty of these bin chips. I'm not paying 500 for a cpu, seems OC used all their stock on these.
Depends, do you do mainly gaming or productivity?Reading the reviews am I actually better off going the 8400 intel instead of 1600x?

The AM4 platform (for Ryzen) is seen as much more open than Z370, meaning you can upgrade your CPU more easily in 2-3 years without having to change motherboard. So you could upgrade to Ryzen 2 in a few years if you wanted. With Intel, you can only upgrade to an i5 8600k/i7 8700k in Z370. It's a locked platform in that sense.Only gaming and would like it to last around 5 years at least.
