Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

Is this similar to AMD where some coffee lake cpus have coolers and some dont? Or do they all have the stock coolers included?

Max temps for me with delid 8700k are around 70c in Aida at 5ghz.

BF1 fps went from 80-100 with a 1080ti/ryzen to 120-150 with a 1080ti/8700k at 1440p. Its seriously a nice change to see me hitting my display refresh at ultra, Thank you intel :D!

Looking to order an 8700K along with the Asus Hero or Aorus Gaming 7 board. Which CPU cooler would people recommend?

If you need above 1.3v no cooler is good without delid.

1.275 or so is fine on 240 aio or equivalent for non avx stress testing.

Cheap Air 1.225 or so fine.

Is 32GB Ram worth it yet? Not sure which RAM to go for and also whether to stick with 16GB or move to 32GB, mainly for gaming.

At current prices a good set of 16gb is £200+. For an extra £200 I really don't think you'll see any benefit. And for gaming 16gb fast ram will be much better than 32gb slower ram.

Edit: I'm playing pubg, editing a video, have 8 chrome tabs open and I'm using 7Gb...

Managed to hit 4k on memory:

Gskill have announced 4600mhz memory.

They have the same board as me and have achieved 32gb @ 4000mhz.
I'm can't get above 3866 on 16gb yet, although they are covering the bios rev. So I have hope that updates are coming :)

@RichUK any other tweaks you did?

8350K, 1.24v at 4.5 ok and 4.6 Prime fails straight away, 1.25v at 4.6 is hitting 90-94 deg C. (hyper 212 air) Time to delid, tightened the jig, IHS wouldn't budge, so just went for it and then bang! Removed CPU, IHS fell off nice and clean. Good thing with this CPU is there aren't many other components around and a small surface area.
Cleaned up the glue from the IHS, left the glue on the other side for guidance, liquid metal on, 4 tiny dots of super glue per corner, all back together and testing again.
So far 4.5Ghz shows each core less by 10, 10, 7 & 8 deg respectively, but with my air cooler I am waiting on a better fan coming Tuesday and might manage to improve on that.

I don' think I will reach 4.8 with Prime under about 90 deg. Decision is to leave at 4.8 and check temps with games and Cinebench (usually don't go above mid 70's). Not sure if that's good practise and never plan to stress with Prime again once finished and my Dad won't stress it with anything once he has the PC in a month.

This is one of the things that puts me off upgrading. At 1440p I get 90-110fps on a 1080/2600k on ultra. It's not a night and day difference going to 120+ for the costs involved.

Its worth noting that techen come from a 1600/1080ti I had a 1700/1070. Both had same cpu clock speed/mem speed and we were both running at same settings, same map in same server my fps was higher.
Its the frametimes and having the GPU at 99% which has shown the biggest difference for me.
