Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

:D :D :D

@Panos hey can you run your memory on 1T? For some reason I can't run 1T at all

I will give it a try tonight. FYI I haven't installed the Beta bios as it doesn't bring anything new, and my system runs beautifully without :)

Need now to find a nice clear glass case to put it on, because the one I have is pretty huge and the board is been dwarved.

Talking about that. I have clocked more than a dozen hours on CK2 and Cities Skylines over the week. The performance of that 8600K cannot even be compared with HT CPUs (this is my first i5). Because both games pick a thread to run not a core, and perf always struggled 100 years into the game in the case of CK2, regarldess the CPU have played the game since it came out (4820K @ 5Ghz, 4930K @ 4.5, 6700K @ 4.9Ghz, 6800K @ 4, 1800X @ 4.1).

Right now even on fast speed 200 years into the game, the game doesn't struggle at all and fps stay high, they do not tank at 3fps.

@Panos
I was hoping the new bios might improve RAM overclocking as they usually did with Z170 impact. But not this time, I'm gonna roll back to the previous one.
About case, I'm using QX37WX, solid alluminium case with glass panels. Graphics card clearance is a bit meh but it does take the Strix 1080.
About games, Seems like HT isn't the best thing. I play a few games including BF1, Diablo 3, Grim Dawn and Dawn of War III I never actually care about the fps count in those games apart from BF1. However, the MSc progamne in which I'm enrolled doesn't give me much time really. So I only boot the board and "play" with memory settings. :D

Anyone got any tips for overclocking my ram?

it's patriot 2800mhz.

I did try just switching it to 3000mhz but it didn't boot.

I don't know much about ram overclocking, I did get my old samsung green up to 2133 on my 3570k but that was just following 8pack instructions.

You can try to enable XMP and then up the dram voltage to 1.4v and increase the clock to 3000Mhz, if it doesnt boot then can I have your CPU-Z screenshot with the SPD tab.

pretty safe :D
So I tried it and can't get it to boot.

I must be doing something wrong though as if I set "system memory multiplier" to anything other than auto it doesn't boot.

I thought this is the setting I change to get 3000 but even if I set it to 2.8 which I'm already running at it doesn't boot, only auto works.

What am I doing wrong?

So not sure what's going on,

If I set xmp it boots fine with memory at 2800 but any time I try to enter it manually it doesn't boot and the strange thing is it will not boot again until I restore defaults even if I switch the xmp back on after the failed boot it will not boot.

I tried entering every part of the sub timings and tried just doing the top ones nothing except xmp or stock wants to boot.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong lol.

Set your ram voltage to 1.4v. Select your XMP profile. Reboot system
Go into bios and set the speed you want, leave all timings at Auto.

The higher you clock the ram, the looser the timings should be.

Whats your ram rated speed and timings?

Nope. At auto all works OK, but setting Command rate to 1 the system doesn't boot at all.

And this ram was working all this time as 1T ram even on the Ryzen board.
okay time to throw the board to the bin then :D I got the same problem, my tridentz is proven to work at 4000 12 11 11 21 1T and now no matter what setting the board refuses to boot with 1T.

You need B-Die :D

It's xmp is 2800.

If I set the ram speed to anything other than auto it doesn't boot????

This must be bios glitch or something?

Still can't get it to boot with anything other than xmp or stock.

Edit: Even with the xmp loaded if I change it from auto to 2800 it doesn't boot even though auto is 2800.
