Because you never bite the hand that feeds you.

okay im at 250 posts and I dont see a members market!
FrankJH said:To be fair the majority of HP and Dell customers would be magazine or newspaper purchasers and these wouldnt have conroe mentioned in them yet anyway (I have just checked a few daily papers to confirm most of the configs are Pentium D or M variety's) so while these firms are Intel's bread and butter I wouldnt bet at OCUK being able to outsell them both on a brand new line of cpu's for a couple of weeks at least
Just my take on things
PS Obviously overall sales would be heavily in HP's and Dell's favour ( no disrespect to Gibbo etc) but on the brand new line alone its entirely possible for the opposite to be true

Aurhinius said:I have a question for Intel Guy :-
Why if you are making enough to meet demand of X6800's are you not able to make enough 6600's or get any out to your customers?
Second question -
Why are you shipping to HP and dell and shipping NONE to OCUK? Surely some to everyone is better?
Intel Guy said:Simple, how many XE Cpu's do you think, Dell HP etc are ordering/expecting to sell? At that price point its a niche product and in reallity the number of XE's we have manufactured is very small, but we are managing to get them to right places, and to the people, who might be interested in buying them e.g here As someone said earlier previous releases of XE's have been really bad and there has been no availability.
A small success i guess
SimonMaltby said:You are getting them to people like OCUK who are charging a fortune for them. I would upgrade my E6700 order if the price were sensible for an X6800... I just dont understand why other suppliers are not getting a fair share.
It smacks of a monoply tbh... One very upset Intel Customer
Thank you for your webnote. We currently do have stock of these items but are unable to ship them until Monday as this is intels official release date.
We expect to be able to ship them within the next 48 hours.
All the initial stock that we had has been sold and we are currently awaiting more stock but this is not due in until August so we have had to put them back on Pre-Order.
I'm sure it's a customer services issue and not one for the forum.keithwalton said:**snip**
Aurhinius said:I wonder how many 6600's went to dell and HP, 100,000's no doubt to sit in their warehouses until they are ready to produce their new product lines. How much do OCUK need now? 1000?
I cannot believe HP or Dell would miss 1000 CPU's when they deal in much larger quantities.
I think someone who is sitting on such large quantities of CPU's as dell and HP could better absorb 1-3 weeks wait for an extra 1000 CPU's compared to OCUK who have none.
I cannot believe someone has not said "all these guys want is 1000 CPU's" is it that much to ask?
I have another question for you INTEL Guy. I appreciate you addressing my previous ones.
Question on everyone's mind. What can "we" do to speed things up?
