Intel Update: Conroe!

Yeah, I thought they did.

I called them about an hour ago, and the phone guy said they were very busy, which is understandable I guess!

He still said it was scheduled to be packed this afternoon, and that they still had stock though...
 
I cant believe you guys are forking out so much money for the Conroe setup. I did a quick calculation as to how much it would cost me to make the switch: £700 approx. Thats a lot of money to me and I'm still ooohing and aaahing on whether to spend all that.

If oooh is bad and aaah is good, I will think spending the money is oooh and seeing conroe work is aaah! :)
 
I see the E6700 OEMs are coming in tomorrow, and I currently have a E6700 on preorder.

Do OCUK have enough OEMs in such that if I change my order now I'd get one of the current shipment of OEMs?

Also what is the disadvantage of the OEMs?
 
The phone is engaged all the time now.

Best leave em to it I reckon, I'd like to think they're just trying to get as much as possible out of the door today and they'll sort out the despatch emails later. After all, they've got our cash haven't they!

I havent bought a desktop machine in 4-5 years. Im due an upgrade. :p

My 3500+ AMD was oem, and came in a well padded small box, like a bit of jewellery. But it only had a year warranty, and I wont be buying oem again cause it was defective after 14 months, mind you I was clocking it 400hz over spec and was using it 24/7

Asus P5W DH its not cheap and they're running short of them at the moment quite simply because it is THE board to have.

I shall be posting my review of the board you know where ;) soon, the summary is its an amazing board if you can afford it

That's because they've given all to the big boys. Such as shame because, factoring price, the E6600 is the best conroe of all.

I'm still waiting for a decent Conroe/Crossfire MB before purchasing my E6600 though.
