Well he was out for more or less all of last season and due to injury and Skrtel's amazing form, he's barely played this season either so im not sure why you've dramatically changed your opinion.

IIRC we spoke about his ability in the air after the CL qualifier where admittedly he struggled but other than that game he's not done much wrong.

Skrtel and Carra are currently first choice on merit but imo, Agger has the abilit/potential to be our best CB since Hansen. And he's not that bad in the air either. It's not heading ability he lacks but he lacks a bit of upperbody strength but again, he's not that bad.
 
Get Carrick in for Barry.
Foster in for James.
Beckham in for Lennon.
Heskey in for Crouch.

That would be our strongest lineup then I think. Cole was terrible last night but there is no one else better and it was just another off day for him. Some of his passing was just terrible and he didn't seem at the races at all.

Barry was pretty poor. Does a job defensively but he was guilty of trying over the top passes and making silly mistakes as well. I'd much sooner have Carrick in there with Lampard.

Lennon just doesn't have any end product. Yes he has fantastic pace but I'd sooner see Walcott in the side ahead of him as he has a bit more pace and albeit very marginally better end product. Lennon just doesn't seem to have enough intelligence to play. Its get the ball and try to beat the defender on the outside EVERY time with him. He never seems to mix it up. Hopefully this will come with more experience..

Still, a win is a win is a win.
 
Watched a lot of football last night / this morning.

Thought England looked average, wasn't a brilliant performance, wasn't a horrible performance. Average.

Lennon was very good in the first half, thought it was the wrong thing to do with Beckham, he didn't do anything. Crouch, even though I think he's an awful footballer he scores at international level ! thought England looked less threatening when he went off.
Better then Heskey, Heskey doesn't score.

Defense was below average, Cole and Johnson looked poor.

Argentina ! what a game of football, loved it start to finish :D
They were poor, unorganised, and out played in every department.
Some Argentine players still managed to look pretty good when they got the ball, it's just the team they were playing were on another level.

Brazil looked good, much better then their 1-1 draw.
 
Walcott in for Lennon, Hargreaves / Carrick for Barry, Heskey in for Crouch et voila.

Last couple of games Gerrard and Rooney have been awesome which is nice to see considering they are pretty much our only international talents.

Not overly impressed by Skrtel either, for me Carragher has totally marshalled your defence this year with Mascherano.

Walcott is injured isn't he?

What has Hargreaves done recently to warrant a place?

Or Heskey either for that matter?
