Lennon had very little support on the right tonight but to say that you didn't see Lennon put a single poor ball into the box? You're blind mate. Simple as. He's a young lad and will improve, he doesn't deserve the bashing he gets at times, other times he deserves the criticism. Rooney was a headless chicken tonight? Lennon wouldn't have seen the ball tonight if Rooney didn't pass to him. No one else was.

Rooney tried hard but what did he create really? Many times he could have played a simple pass but tried being flash and lost the ball. Most blatant was when he had a simple lay off for Gerrard in the box but tried to shoot from a tight angle.

Well perhaps 'assist' was a technically wrong but he was a big factor in the goal
And yes, re: Lennon, I actually rate him quite highly.
Its true his end product needs improving and he needs to be more consistent.
But if he can achieve that (and why not?) he could be a very, very good player.
I remember people used to say a certain Ryan Giggs didn't have any end product..

To be honest (and this may be the Liverpool in me) if I were Capello I'd beg Carra to come back and play alongside Rio.

Our defence really just needs sorting out, I can barely remember us clearing a set piece effectively in the last few times I've seen us play - we just seem to panic.

And for those slating Rooney, don't be daft. Yes, he can be an idiot, but if you're saying that he shouldn't play because of it that's foolish. Everything good tonight came via him and Gerrard. He is, by a considerable distance, our most technically gifted player (at least until Joe Cole is back), and some of his passing tonight was exceptional.
