Here's my latest failure..

A friend tried setting me up with her friend, she sent me some details and some pics and gave me her msn and said she'd be online after 8. Well 8 came and went and so did the next day and that evening I was out to a BBQ but left my self logged in and set to away as usual. Came back that night and she'd been online, left some messages and had logged off again. So I thought oh well I'm just unlucky, I'll catch her some other time. The next day (being a Sunday) I was online all day, I popped out for half an hour and when I came back she'd been online left some more messages and had logged off again. This time she was moaning I was never there and I was wasting her time and subsequently blocked me. So in the end I never actually spoke to her and she was far from my friends description of "quiet", "shy" and "very nice" and turned out to be quite rude.

my friends keep saying they want to set me up with people but when they describe the person they really dont sound like the type of guy im looking for.

Regret the things you did not the things you didn't, you never know who you'll meet.

I prefer talking prior to meeting as it makes the atmosphere much more comfortable.

I remember once I went on kind of group date, there was 6 of us but 2 were already a couple. I had met this person a few weeks prior as she was again a friend of a friend but I was told she had a b/f. It turns out he was abroad and they were splitting up. I also found out she was interested which came as a surprise as she was extremely attractive. So for the weeks leading up to the date I was trying to get her number from my friend to do some ground work but she wouldn't let me. So when we finally have the date she's too shy to even talk to me and needless to say I haven't seen her since :(

I haven't yet decided if I'm just extremely unlucky or the single women left are single for a reason :(

True. I have said to them ok I'll meet them as they've suggested meeting in a group for a drink but it's sort of just been left there.

so you have no way of meeting her again through your friend?

my general line of thinking is that im very unlucky but people keep saying to me that im wrong and will meet someone "one day"

i hope I havent been left single for a reason lol
 
I don't live there anymore.

I have faith you wont be left single for too long and not just because I've seen your pic ;)

Kinda going back to the experiment earlier but what sort of things are putting you off? Always interesting glimpsing into the female psyche
 
fluffmct - well one of the guys they mentioned was a smoker so thats an instant deal breaker.

There was another one who just from a story they told me sounded immature for his age (he's 28) but i did say well ok i'm happy to meet him and nothing came of it.

And the other bloke was in to travelling a lot as in backpacking so he'd hardly be around but again i've said ok to meeting.

oooh one of my many men on match has just emailed me lol :D yey!

mr white - not at the moment my friends keep saying to me "meet him, come for drinks one night and meet him and i keep saying ok arrange it" and they never do! or are you on about my other friend from far away who i fancied? lol

lol last time i checked i was!

yeah same.

my ex was a smoker but i dated him because he said he was going to quit soon. a month or so into the relationship he said soon meant 2/3 years time.

nope he turned into a girl and said "i need to be alone and think for a while" we fell out for a few days. he now has a gf who he moans about to me and he still flirts with me! men!

(sorry some men!)

he said recently that if we lived closer he wouldve asked me out years ago
