I think id better reply. I met a lady from Smooch.com (yes its totally free!) before I knew about PoF and Match.con.
Been over 3 months things are good we are taking things in our stride but we've met eachothers parents and things are progressing, totally inlove with eachother and couldnt be happier really!.
So hang in there guys and girls, if its meant to happen it will!.

I want to sign up to something like this because I'm getting fed up of the losers that I seem to be attracting and making bad drunken decisions. However, I just know that if I do people from work will find me and create alias profiles and message me and wind me up big time. I work on a team of about 40 and atleast half of those all live in the same commuter town as me, so an area search would instantly find me.

I know that I have searched a site before and found an old school friend on there! Does anyone else not have this worry or first hand experience?

when you say people at work do you mean men? If so, they would have to search for men under your description to find you and they seriously need to grow up if they were to do something like that.

Same goes for if it's women. Plus... if they do, the question is what are they doing on their in the first place?!

I work on a team of men and women. I know that one of the girls uses online dating. The nature of my work also means that everyone thinks they are the ultimate comedian and pranks are a daily occurance. If one of the girls were to find me and the boys got wind of it, then there would be issues!

Well I say go for it if you want to. Don't worry about what they think. I think it would be rather pathetic of them if they created a fake profile just to wind you up.

I'm with SS on this one, just sign up and go for it, if the people from work find out just tell them you have already had 5 dates and that they should mind their own business.
