ok, out of boredome and morbid curiosity, here's mine.

http://www.okcupid.com/profile/Mac3rd3/

not actually looking for anything from it, just taking the tests mostly lol, but feel free to critique it, I know it's terrible, but the people who talk to me because of it, are the ones worth my time :p

Far too many smilies in my book - personally I think you need to tone down the geek-elements of your profile. Let's be honest, if a girl presented herself a games geek when I was introduced, then I would be wary. Not that I'm saying that games are a bad thing, but don't let your hobbies outshine your personality.

Oh and too much sarcasm / impression of self depreciation, in my book.

Listen to Nitefly, he knows what he likes in men. :D

as I said, I'm not really looking for anything on the dating side of things, just seeing if anything throws itself my way lol

though I know I overuse smilies, I'm not so sure about the self deprication thing, I'd say I was more arrogant/cocky than anything else in there

hehe damn you've sussed who I was *really* aiming for ;)

Pretty odd that some of you are linking each others profiles only to receive input from others who are trying the same thing - and whilst having a moan that no one contacts them.

May not be everyone that this is directed at, but I can see just by the last page or so there are a few doing this.

There are no rules in dating and you just write what you want.

Also, if you dont know what to write to a girl or over think it then you probably lack some social skills and need to work on that before trying online dating.

Just my 2c

well, I've met a number of girls both from life and online dating, so my approach works for me :D

but I'm just curious as to how I'm percieved by others by my profile alone, granted asking on a site that's 90% sausage is going to get me a narrow field of views, but I understand what you mean about telling other guys what to write etc, but I don't see this as a competition, not like I'll have to battle any of these guys to win some lady's heart, so some tips from an outsider's perspective helps imo :)

The below is self depreciating:

My eyes, they're quite blue, second to that is usually my hair, it's always doing something stupid like growing - make this more possitive

If pushed I could live a life of solitude in the mountains, but for the sake of appeasing you screaming hoards of women (and I'll forego the usual clichéd witticisms of air, food etc) - too obviously sarcastic

Some sort of gaming console, I'm a geek, proud of it, deal with it, we'll be ruling the world, so you might as well get in on it from the beginning - too obviously sarcastic

and let's face it, if we all had something to do on the Friday night, I highly doubt we'd be on here. - you make it sound as if anybody reading this is useless

Oh, and the water bit is wacky, I'd cut that.

Not that I'm a stud with women or anything, naturally!

Fair enough dude, I didn't mean it as competition though, I'm sure most don't live near each other :)

Maybe take others opinions with a grain of salt, is what I could say. I'm sure some will be valid comments but you don't want to differ to much from who you are.

Even if someone says thats OTT :p

water bit

as for the rest of it, the hair part is a joke, showing I've got a sense of humour about myself and don't take myself too seriously, and the rest is just me being me lol, mocking myself, others or the whole thing.

but I appreciate your input, it's nice to see how it seems from another perspective, so thank you very much :) I'll keep all that in mind should I actually want to gear it towards meeting you :p

yea, I totally understand that, which is why my profile is very tongue in cheek, as it reflects myself and my cocky/funny nature.

I got my last girlfriend by mocking her in the pitch black dark at 4am as she drunkenly struggled to get into her sleeping bag, as I explained there was a hole in one end for her to get in.

she loved it and continued to do so throughout our relationship, made things more fun between us hehe

You have to find the right balance in my experience. If you make yourself too much of a clown with not enough 'oomph', then that's a ticket to friend's zone in my experience.

You're welcome!

Without linking directly to my profile.... This is mine being as everyone else is posting up too. :D
I'll take it on the chin, as I don't really care. :p

Being a proper man and not one of those fairy Metrosexuals with skin tight jeans and wavy hair, I am into cars quite heavily, I go to quite a few track days, mainly abroad and usually have a toy or two in the driveway making the place look untidy. :)
I keep fit the best I can, train 3 times a week but won't let it rule my life and am not afraid of the odd Burger King now and again.
I can't dance to save my life but I love trying, the old saying "dance like no one is watching" is true here, I don't care what people think! I'm the one having fun. :)
My musical tastes stretch far and wide, it's easier listing what I don't listen to. I can't seem to get on with rap these days and rave is a little too mental now I'm older, I still love trance though, having just come back from an intoxicating week in Ibiza (I thought I was too old for it before I went) I can say Tiesto is simply the best DJ ever.
My main hobby is scuba diving and this makes me happy. I love water, I love nature, the environment and I am very keen on taking as much holiday as I can get away with to travel the world.
I am into all this computer malarky too, a bit of a closet geek if you like, but it is sapping the life blood from me and I'm only here because there is no one tempting me away from it at the moment! HELP I do not want to be assimilated.

My type is a slim to athletic, healthy eating, sensible and down to earth lady, but someone who also knows how to have good time, let your hair down and have the ability to laugh at yourself.
Nothing too prim and proper!
SO if you don't have issues, really are looking to meet someone for real, take life by the horns and say hello.
I'm not here to waste your time and it would be much appreciated if you don't waste mine!

do I claim back some man points for my softy sickly email I sent then. :D
(If you had seen her profile I think you would appreciate that it felt the right sort of approach to that one.) and it can't of been that bad as she replied :p

This is obviously a long thread, but is there any tips/hints for writing an introductory email, i have women look at my profile, but i dont get much in the way or them writing to me, i look okay, but i cant seem to hook many.
