"I am kind, romantic, creative, humorous, and vaguely intellectual." while it's nice and all, it makes you sound like a labrador or puppy ;)

also you keep mentioning you're good at buying gifts and planning surprises etc, kinda sets you up to be a walking cashpoint or gives the impression that you'll be constantly showering them with presents etc, you'll be attacked by the gold diggers most likely, so be careful with that :)

but the photos (only a few worked for me here at work) were really good, obviously as you're a media/photography guy :p but reads like the profile of a genuine guy :)

Hmm see what you mean, although I've been on OkC for like 6 months now and I wish some gold diggers would contact me :p.

Toned it down a little anyway.

It's not a bad profile, but as I said, think about the kind of woman you're looking for, and gear towards them :)

also, the main profile pic reminds me of the dramatic chipmunk thing :p

I was kinda shooting for quiet geeky girls, since I'm pretty much the same, though I guess it is limiting my options a bit. I think I'll tone down the whole pirate sillyness thing, and maybe the bit about Sean Bean near the bottom ;). But I guess im really after someone who is in no way a girly girl. Can't really stand that. Someone who's more an intellectual, fairly quiet but a bit silly at times. Someone I could sit down and debate with would be great. Would also help if she was pretty, obviously :p

As for being on OCUK too much, yes. >_<

Yeah, that's pretty bad mate :p.

My rule:

  • Ask three questions based on her specific profile (ie. so you're an XX, do you enjoy it?)
  • Ask a maximum of two questions that aren't (ie. where do you live, how are you finding OkC etc).

You moan that she hasn't started a conversation (by asking any questions) but you didn't either.

that's good, shows you've actually read the profile, and the extra two make you seem interested to find out more about them personally, I like it :)
 
RossG - from a ladies point of view, personally i would say remove 3rd and 4th photos. I saw 4th and thought ..."er...ok.. bit worrying lol" I would drop the whole "pirate" thing, does make you sound a little off your trolley :p

I can't really comment on anything else because you're not my type so any suggestions i make could then change who your profile appeals to (i.e. the wrong type of girl, if that makes sense?). The bit about being gay for Sean Bean made me lol though.

the pirate thing was for a mate's leaving do, just thought it was a well ocmposed picture :)
 
A mate of mine has tried online dating since the divorce. The vast majority are either nutters or obese. You'd have much better luck joining a local club of some sort I think. Running / dungeons and dragons... what ever you're into.
