Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

I've been on sites with a free trial but have never followed it through. I'm seriously considering signing up soon on one. I don't see any problem with giving them a go. I'm a decent enough chap so there's bound to be equally nice and decent women on there that are looking for the same thing.

Yup!

I used a couple of the free ones, had some fun, experienced some promising run-ups to sadly disappointing meet-ups, made some great new friends, gained masses of confidence and uh, cured the dry spell (naughty, but it stops one being desperate and going on fruitless chases after inappropriate/uninterested men when, uh, you're not left wanting)!

The new man (<3 <3 <3!) probably would have been lost into the ether had I not found him on facebook after meeting him in a pub through a mutual non-local friend. He went abroad to work for over 6 months, and had there been no facebook or MSN, we'd not have kept up the sporadic contact which blossomed into what it is now 4 months after he got back :)

I tried a few of those just to see what it was all about.... DAMN there are some bitter and twisted women on there, and a lot of timewasters/attention seekers.

I suppose it's just like real life in a way - you have to be in the right place at the right time...

I met my fiancee via the web. Well, via WoW to be precise.
She's Finnish and she made the move to the UK to live with me last year. She had a 3 year old who is now my adoptive daughter. We're working on baby number 2 at the moment and will be getting married early next year.

True love can be found on the web.

Very similar story here.

My brother met his wife through an online game called Terrafirma. She lived in the States and he lived in Wales.

They went to a few of the meets in Paris, London, Alton Towers and then eventually over in America.

They got pretty close and they vacationed together before getting engaged.

He moved over to the States about... oooh... 8 years ago now I guess. They're married, have a nice home a kid and number two is on the way.

Internet love definitely can work :)

I signed up for match and plentyoffish but haven't met anyone yet.

I was sending a message to a young lady friend of mine on Bebo this evening and I just spotted that one of her friends is a girl I was checking out just last night on plentyoffish.

Hello.......

:D

I met both my first (1 year) and second (1 year 9 months) girlfriends on the same Trance/Clubbing forum, lol!

Both times it was forum-->MSN-->meeting up at parties.

Fiance was actually met at a party, sans any internet, but I only met her because she was a childhood friend of a mate of mine from another clubbing forum :D

One of my best friends is with an awesome guy she met through Match.com :)

on faceparty atm - seriously TOO many women... search sucks totally. Kazillions of em :D

Thats where the girl im seeing now is from! God your right about the search though, it is quite ridiculous sometimes! Sometimes its like finding a needle in a haystack in terms of normal women :P lol!

Anyways what about people using blatantly fake pictures?! haha!

Yup and would never do it again. Talked to a lady for a bit and arranged for a "date". Turned up to the bar to find a group of my mates had been playing a hilarious "prank" :o Was a good night in the end despite me wanting to silently kill them all. Revenge will be mine!! :D

Was she in your guild ?

Ah DarwinDating! :)

http://darwindating.wordpress.com/2007/05/15/the-red-hair-rule/

Our rule against red hair and freckles appears to have sparked a bit of a debate.

About 2 weeks ago we heard from Rob:

Rob: “The Red Hair Rule is a bit grey. I got red hair, I’m also hot…and buff. Its not that rosey ginger bright carrot red, its more…auburn’ish, but it is still rightly ‘red‘ hair. This rule should specify the severity of red hair. Just a suggestion”

DD: “Hi Rob, You make a fair point. I suggest you upload your photo and we can let the members decide whether auburnish hair can make it. If you make it in I will adjust the rules accordingly. :) Yours in hot people, Darwin Dating”

Rob: “Haha, good stuff.”

And that’s the last we heard from Rob. Did he make it? I guess not… yep, the rule still stands. :)
