Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Now if they were on the dole with 5 kids having never worked there whole life fair enough, it would be my fault.
But no they aren't, the last was a NVQ Assessor, before that a Nurse and the long relationship, she worked as a paralegal. So all decent respectable jobs, but jesus christ there heads a mess!. The decision is to stop dating women my age or older and go for the younger ones!

Maybe try not looking for girls on internet dating sites, and you'll find the non-pshycos. I understand why us guys would find ourselves using them, but most girls can pull a guy just by being... a female. So it's no wonder that there is a reason most of them are online dating..

Personally i've found there to be no difference, some pyscho's use dating sites and some don't. I don't think you're better off one way or another. I've got girl mates who are great fun to be with, pretty etc yet when they get into a relationship suddenly the poor bloke they are with gets lumbered with strange neurotic behaviour, irrational jealousy and other weird nutjob traits that were not apparent until she got her claws in someone, lol.

Those guys probably get nowt either.
You've got to say something to catch their attention, to make them laugh. Talk about them, not you. Is there something in their profile you can relate to? Make a joke out of? Something a bit cheeky, maybe even bordering on smutty :D but then make a joke out of it.

How old are the women you're going for? My targets were over 30, so they're probably messing around less than younger girls - still a fair few head-bangers, but some pretty sensible and sane.

Upshot is - if you can get a decent "in" and get something giggle-worthy going, you're halfway there. Worked for me, and we get married in May :)

Hi Nick, I'm 32 and looking for women between the ages of 25-40, though mostly the over 30's. Problem is most of the women write maybe two sentences which is just the usual "Hi my name is name please message me if you want to know more and be constructive with your first message instead of just HI". So they don't give you any information to talk about in the first place. And the ones that do reply seem to have a lot of guys interested cause they sometimes reply "sorry for late reply had tons of messages to go through".

Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong area :) I'm in Worcester and looking at the most 20 miles (which is a bit much really - would like someone local).

I think my politeness filter is getting in the way as I don't wanna be cheeky or rude in case I come across as being a pervert :D

When I was on there recently I had my beef cake photo up. No nice women replied to any messages or even contacted me just got the usual cheap women with like 12 kids by 12 fathers contact me.

20 miles is nothing! Get a wider search going!

cHk4 - post some profile pages, lets see these cheap women :p

Personally, if you're looking for someone decent don't lower your standards. It gets tempting after a while to start messaging the ones who at first you wouldn't bother with!

Its a short drive in a car.

I drove 25miles into ashford that didn't feel short, plus dating someone at distance isn't good if you don't know the area. I've liked some girls down in dover but that's distance and i don't know the area at all

One thing i've noticed i seem to be doing all the chatting or getting the conversation going. When it does get going, it's like one line responses lol

Been talking to this really nice girl for like two days now, getting on well however she is 21 and i'm 31 and she lives in Dover and i live in Canterbury, doesn't drive either. Would this be a problem?, bout the same distance as canterbury to essex i guess. Wondering if the age thing and the fact she doesn't drive will get in the way

I signed up to eHarmony using their 3 months for £18 deal. Absolute pants so far, glad I didn't pay full price.

I found eHarmony very disappointing:
1. There's no way to msn-style chat, only email or "call"
2. It's a really formal system step 1>2>3>4 then you can email..
3. It leaves you with a feeling of the interactions being formal, wooden and very much on the psychology couch.

As such it stifles that initial buzz and chatter you get. In the end they're all about just making the introduction but eHarmony's approach is outdated for the modern era of social networking aware individuals.

Get in the car and drive.. if you really kick it off the distance will not be a problem.

Besides I had a 3 year relationship with an american girl - part of that she was in Boston MA.

You have the option to skip straight to email, which I used. It just seems madness to say "Here's a match, send them a questionnaire" though.

It's nice to hear some sucess stories on here :)

I have recently joined match (what a bad idea that was) and have sent out 21 emails so far with no replies. But I don't let that get me down! Oh no! I will strike it lucky soon enough. Things can only get better right?

Actually, I did get an email just recently. She has no picture and no description at all. She is south African and talking to her is rather difficult. She never really answers questions properly and she never asks them. Also she states in her profile that she is curvy... I think next step is to ask for a pic.
I like curvy girls but there is a difference between curvy and obese. We shall see.
She is also a tad younger than I. 22 to be exact and I am 26. Don't usually go for younger.
