Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

I'm meeting the girl who lives in LA in a couple of weeks. She's flown home to her parents in Italy for a week then comes over to London for Months.

Looks like I may have a busy time ahead :)

Signed up to a site and have been chatting to a nice girl on the phone and due to meet next week sometime but got another nice girl that's messaged me.

I'm guessing it's the norm for everyone on these sites to have multiple people on the go if given the chance and just lie about it if the other person asks?

(For the purpose of making use of every opportunity)

I asked a similar thing not too long ago, I felt quite guilty about having a few on the go, but I soon found out that the problem with what is essentially a blind date is that they don't always go as planned and can be over as quick as they started.
You don't owe anyone anything, and unlike normally meeting and dating I found POF to be quick fire, meet, judge, decide. It why I have left, made me feel quite souless.
I suppose what I'm saying is to hedge your bets, it might be you miss out if you don't.

I had a hell of a time and got a fair bit out of it, I might even unhide my profile if I get bored again.

Hi guys,

I've been on a couple of dates with a girl that I met on PoF - we arranged to go on a third which is supposed to be tomorrow night. She hadn't responded to a text I'd sent yesterday so I just text her to make sure tomorrow was still going ahead. She text back soon after saying "Yea if you want to still? Why would we not be?! :P xx".

Am I being unreasonable to expect a reply or is she playing games?

I don't know whether to mention that she suddenly stopped communication or just play it off - "just making sure" or something...

Ok I did the above and I'm gonna pick her up @ 7 tomorrow.

She said she text me but didn't get a reply... do text messages really fail to get delivered these days? :/

It's a possibility, I'd expect that normally you'd get a report of some description to inform you of the failure though. Either way it's not worth worrying about, I don't imagine there's going to be anything good coming out of chasing the issue.

ARGGH, been working on this one fish for a couple of weeks.
Got a message yesterday

"I have just started seeing a friend (he is on here, but I have actually known him for about 15 years) so I think it would not be right for us to meet up right now.
Having said that, I don't know how it will work out with him, so perhaps we could link up if it doesn't work out? It's been fun chatting with you."

Sloppy seconds or move on? :D

sloppy seconds. i understand from her point of view, at some point she has to decide to meet up with someone and the choice of a random stranger over someone she's known for 15 years is an obvious one. it prob will work out for quite some time so i would move on and if she gets in touch at a point when you're single then continue where you left off.

I'd email the guy congratulating him on breaking out of a 15 year friend zoning.

Been with my PoF Girlfriend about 2.5 month now and shes pretty great... until shes drunk, and then shes a bit of a nutter.

Nutters keep me keen so I dont mind so much, but there are some clues as to why she was on PoF in the first place hahaha :D
