HAH I lolled pretty hard and almost spat my food out :p

Ok so I joined Plentyoffish the other night and I really don't know what to make of it at the mo. It seems I only get messages from idiots/foreigners/chavs and if I send a message to someone who actually looks nice and sounds decent, I get nothing back :(

Went to sign up for Match.com last night - £65?!?!

Yes I found that a bitter pill to swallow when I saw that. The other way of doing it was paying monthly at £10 odd a month. £3 or £4 a month fine, but not paying that much.

65 quid is apparently a special offer! How much is it normally?? It also said in small font underneath the price that its taken out in one lump sum, I'm not sure if they'd have given the option of monthly payments if I'd clicked on...

Internet dating is the biggest joke ever and i hate the people that use it, it seem like they cant get anyone in REAL life so they have to look on the internet for people. My friend uses them and meets up with these girls on there and after seeing them once there already in a relationship, its crazy and so stupid..

I'm hoping that he will find someone on there and meet up with them then they will turn out to be a guy or summing, that would make him stop

My cousin has been meeting up with some nice older women and getting plenty of action on POF

Gave it a go myself but there are a lot of timewasters. Made a few friends though, that's about it. I'll stick to being introduced to friends of friends in RL - much better results :)

Hate's a bit strong, no?

T'is a bit methinks. I'm on match too, and because I'd like someone who is in to horses I've also signed up to two equine ones >.<

tbh it seems unless you have a picture in your profile you'll not hear much at all (may be different for women I don't know). I've only emailed a couple of people, and the only one who has responded was one who was down for friends only anyway.

Tisonlyme, a friend of mine is also on plentyoffish and she's met a few people from there, but no luck really. Seems to be full of people who are married, after one thing, or are complete idiots. I hope you have more luck!

At least PoF is free though. Read an article the other day about some dating sites being accused of entering false profiles to attract people, emailing people who aren't full members to get them to sign up to read the msgs, contacting when the membership is about to run out etc. Does make you wonder who is and isn't real, who's being honest.

*sigh*

My last 3 long-term relationships were all borne from the internet (2 from forums, and 1 who was a friend of someone on a forum.

It's far better an option than going to some lame meat-market and chatting up chlamydia-ridden ho-bags.

The internet has become a large part of modern day life, so why not make the most of it?

Claimed? :D

I recently made a profile on POF , had a few peeps msg me. Not holding out , still prefer meeting people out and about.

H

Ahhh, the are you single thread and why has made me go on a rampant messaging session. All marked as read already! lol, dooooooomed for failure.

Out of curiosity, do people have a style of message that they send as their "first contact" probing message? :D
