What made me changed my mind is that my friend who recently went to Rio to meet a girl that he likes the look of on some Brizillian dating site, but he didn't want to pay the fees so he tracked her down on Facebook and came back last week from 2 weeks there all spent with her. He's someone who previous AGAINST these things so now in the spirit of "Who knows?" and "Life is too short", I am going to give this a go.

few tips I learnt by experience on site...


write a long profile, say how hopeless romantic you are etc etc ;)

when you mail someone you like look of, ask lots of questions / talk about about their profile like you actually read it..

skip mailing people who are on like 100s of peoples fave list, instead, find new users who only just signed up (new local users)

put a photo up of yaself (with clothes on lol)


doing above seems to increase chance of reply :)

I've had considerable success with internet dating, and will reinforce what Flukester says here. It's really important not to write a generic simple email, as it looks like you've just copied and pasted which makes you look lazy.
As long as you have something genuinely in common, then make sure you discuss that in the first email.

Good photos that show personality and fun are a bonus, and make sure you don't come accross as needy/bitter!

Well on that same site a lot of girls profiles just imply they're up for fooling around and nothing else. That's what I meant by my quote, profiles written in text or full of acronyms aren't worth my time, if they can't be bothered to type properly, I can't be bothered to read.

Most definitely lol. If I put in my old post code in London, the girls there are on a whole different level. They're much prettier, less slaggish looking, their profiles actually make a pleasant read, rather than, and I quote:
"im 20 nearly 21 i live on d wirral i like drinkin dancin n singin n bein wiv me m8s i go out nearly every week n av a laff
i h8 spiders n nefin little da cn crawl but i love monkeys lol"

I want to get out of the North West ASAP lol.
