Well this is a new one (for me anyway). I was browsing through profiles the other week and this one guy's profile caught my eye AND he was really hot. I presumed I wouldn't have a chance so I continued looking. Suddenly he writes to me (eek!) and we've written about 40 messaged to each other in the last week and a bit.
He asked if I had Skype because he couldn't meet for at least a week (business trip). I didn't want to give him my Skype as I don't like skyping friends let alone someone I don't know.
Anyway...curiosity got the better of me so I asked him if he had Facebook, which he didn't (I'm always wary of people who don't have Facebook, haha!). I then decided I would add him on Skype and he actually had a different pic to the one on OKCupid. The problem is...it looks nothing like him! I think he might have even used a fake on his profile! He even looks to be of a different ethnicity in both pics - what the heck! I'm peed off that he's done this - I was really quite into him, sigh!
Fakes are common. If someone looks a little too good to be true, you need to reverse image search them, which can be done by dragging the pics into google images.
That said, not having a facebook is a silly reason to be weary, imo. I made my first facebook account about 2 months ago because a job required me to make some changes on one, and I didn't know how. Many people are just not really interested in social media and given the quality of the content it's hard to blame them.
