Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

To be honest, I didn't even think of my pictures when I updated the profile, I mealy looked at the text.

Erm, you didnt think of the photo, the first thing people will inevitably look at, when making the profile? Interesting. :D

I agree with the other guys though, the main photo is pretty horrific... if I was a bird and looked at that i'd think "Eek, miserable sod, looks too serious". Put some other, happier ones up, and (ant this is just an opinion) consider getting contact lenses.

Had my first internet date in the real world yesterday - via PoF. We'd been chatting all week on FB then she gave me her number.

Met for drinks then went for some food after. Really nice girl, I wasn't really that nervous which surprised me, and we got talking very easily which was good. I don't know if she's the next Mrs Big Chris, there wasn't anything like the spark I felt the first time I met my ex, but I'm going to see her again and take it from there :)

We talked a bit about PoF and she told me that she had over 500 messages in her inbox (! ! ! !) so guys, you HAVE to make your subject lines and messages stand out! (mine obviously did :p)

Hm, i always do quick messages which just puts Hi as the subject. I'm going to put my lack of responses down to that rather than my ugly mug haha.

I don't think subject line comes into it that much, if they like your pic they will open the message regardless of how generic the subject text is.

I think I've seen that before, never tried though. Good luck!

I really want to do speed dating in the science museum, but their lates are on the last Wednesday of every month which is the only day of the week I can't make. Speed dating sounds like a laugh though.

I know that speed dating has occurred at their Lates events in the past, it's probably a regular feature. But there are all sorts of activities so it's probably one big dating event! I've never been, due to aforementioned Wednesday commitment, some of my friends have been and said it's fun.

According to the full programme:

Second floor
Speed Dating, temporary exhibition space
20.15–21.30
This could be your chance to meet the person you might end
up marrying! There’s also a free drink thrown in for all daters.
(Royal participants cannot be guaranteed)
Limited numbers, buy tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Charge £6, free to members.

I would consider membership it's pretty cheap and you get to skip the queues, plus it has non Lates benefits like free admission to the exhibitions I think. Also if you're going to the science museum, check out Listening Post it's free and it's awesome. Actually that would make a good, quick, getting to you know date, especially for people with an interest in the internet.

As above third pic is too dark. There are also none of you smiling. The first one you look a bit miserable and no offense but as its your main picture it could actually put people off if they think you look moody :p

Quite a few spelling mistakes :p you haven't described the type of person you're looking for. And Ritch has made a good point above about trying to show how a partner could fit into your life. For example you said you can't get on your bike until next summer. You could say something about hoping that by that time you will have someone who can join you. Or maybe say that with snowboarding instead :)

And just me being picky but when you talk about the aspects of photography I would personally change it to "aspects of it" as I think the word photography is used too much in that sentence. But as I said thats just my opinion lol .

Your "for" and "intent" differ which could confuse a girl on what you're actually looking for.

P.s. you don't look 25 :p

Yes, there where many spelling mistakes indeed lol, although most were just crappy typing than rather than errors, still, should have checked :p.

See what you mean about 'photography' as well, is rather overused in the space of two sentences.
Hadn't noticed that the 'I Am Looking For' was set at hang out lol, thanks for pointing that out.

I know I don't look 25 :(, barely look 18 lol.

I know, rather stupid not to even think about the photos lol. It had been quite a long day by the time I got around to editing the profile, 23:30 on a Friday night, quiet sad really! Hah.

But taken on what you've all said, I do look a miserable sod in it, so have removed that one. Will have to try and get some new ones.
I've tried contacts as well, didn't really get on with them, but that was a few years ago now. May have to give them another go.

Cheers for the help :D.
