I'm going to be spending the whole weekend with her and plan to use some holiday between now and December.

The reason for posting prior to meeting is just to get some opinions really :)
 
So I decided to give this another go and had mixed results. I've message plenty of people to very little success, particularly choosing girls who I thought wouldn't be bombarded by messages, talking about stuff on their profiles, only messaging people who say they want to be messaged etc. I had one reply which was 'yeah, I go out in Notts, u?'

I then got a message off someone in Birmingham and we've exchanged phone numbers so that's moved off PoF. Things seem to be going ok with her so far, plenty of texting back and forth so plucking up the courage to ask for a date soon :)

That's great news :)

I found the same with girls who just reply with very simple one line sentences. One asked me what I did for a living so I summed it up in a couple of sentences, then asked her what she did. Her reply was "I'm a nurse" and nothing else.

Personally as soon as I think they're not bothered I move on.

Out of interest, how far do you search for people (not including LA girl :p)? I've been keeping myself to roughly an hours drive from Nottingham but finding this limits the results quite a bit.

Generally I've been looking within 25 miles. Maybe we should compare who we've been in contact with lol.

I've had multiple women send me filthy pictures via text/msn now. All real. 2 of them tasty enough.

I'm only freaking more because the last guy said I didn't come across as open or comfortable around him when I thought I was so I don't want to be sitting there giving off a "**** off" vibe when I'm actually trying to give off the vibe that I like them. (if the date is going well of course!)

Orange Peel - If I was in your shoes the thought of going to LA for a fairly long period of time would both excite me but also scare the heck out of me :p but as others have said, see how it goes meeting in person over here and if things feel right then go for it :)

My original search went up to 40 but there weren't many women without children. Plus most of them seem to have given up on life and just want someone who "won't mess them around and to snuggle with on the sofa with a bottle of wine"

I'm looking for someone active who hasn't given up.

That's how I feel now! Everything so far has been great so I'm just going to roll with it :)
 
Well, I've had a rather interesting couple of days on POF.

I changed my pictures, and removed my 'About Me' and simply listed a load of stuff I like that came to my head when I was drunk, so naturally it included so random stuff as well.

Since yesterday I've had about 15 girls message me, still a fair few 'hey how r u lol' messages, but loads of them have been proper nice messages about how my profile made them laugh and I seem nice, etc. The standard of girls messaging me seems to have improved as well. I'd normally get maybe 0-2 messages a day.

Anyway, hopefully got a date next week with a local one, and another one I'm going to sort out soon with an awesome American girl who messaged me today. Hurrah!

I've actually got a date with a girl on Thursday this week. Met her out on Saturday night, had a drunken kiss, so figured I may as well meet her again and see what happens.

Still not looking for anything serious , but will of course see what happens as you never know when the right person will come along.
