Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

While I don't believe there's such thing as a 'pre date', the majority of my first dates have been short 1-2 hour affairs chatting over coffee. Perhaps that's what she means.

I have a second date on Sunday with a girl who I had a great time with about a month ago, so I'm hoping that will go well. The large gap in time really sucks but we've both been busy, plus she had to give the last organised date a miss due to illness. So yeah. Fingers crossed!

PS: Anyone of you who are in London and know the Camden area well, any suggestions for things to do? We're probably going to have a wander through Camden market and grab some dinner in the evening. No clue where yet though!

I'm going on a 3 date marathon over the next three days... helping my Bro move house in Leicester so lined up dinner & drinks with a tall, hot blondie, then I'm working in Chester on Sun so going for drinks with a another nice blonde in Stoke on the way back down the M6, then meeting another one in Brum on Mon night who classes Zelda Ocarina of Time as her favourite game of all time!

Got a few days off then going for dinner with a bio-med scientist in Oxford on Fri next week!

I'm starting to like this online dating lark! :D

Meeting up with a lass I met on POF tomorrow for the first time. Meeting her for lunch and drinks. First proper date I've had so I'm hoping my nerves don't get the best of me.

Well if the weather isn't terrible, you could always walk along the canal/camden locks and go to london zoo - which isn't too far away.

if it isn't raining - edinboro castle is a nice place to drink and does gastropub food - nice beer garden especially.

if it is raining - as you're going on a sunday you can get 2-4-1 on cocktails at 55 bar - has a nice vibe if you can get a seat - walls are covered in music/gig posters

depending on the girl, if she's into music - the lock tavern is a good place to go.

can't go wrong with wagamamas for food either but there are a lot of nice little eating places on parkway - my personal fave place is the diner on jamestown road.

there's also an odeon, just in case it's going terribly and you want to sit in awkward silence for 2 hours.

DATE PLANNED.

personally i hate the market, too much going on and you get herded like cattle - i live on camden road :)

Not internet dating but did meet the girl of my dreams on ocuk.

She has a core i5 2500k processor, Asus z68 deluxe mobo, 8 gig of ram, gtx 580 all housed in a antec 902, she is beautiful and I love her.

Notsureifserious ;) lol

It's only been about a week, and i'm already giving up. It just seems like too much hard work.

Putting effort into the conversation to try and open them up a bit and gettin 10 word or less answers, if your not intersted just dont answer in the first place

It's even worse when they messaged me first, and then don't even engage properly. I'm either talking to the wrong type of girl or I'm just a boring old bore. LOL

I'm just gonna stick to goin into town and snoggin all the young chavy birds. :D Time for a few Ciders I'm off out.

Signed up to a few of these sites recently, sent out a few messages and got some in response, but they were all fairly brief and didn't leave much to pick up on for a reply.

Sent a one-liner out yesterday and got an entire novel in response. She seems like a nice girl... the catch is she's a single mum. Hmmm.

I get that a lot too, it's almost like a test to see if you can make a conversation out of nothing, I had one girl send me a reply that didn't leave me anything to reply with but I managed to make something up and we've been talking for a month now and planning to meet soon. would have met sooner but our work shifts keep clashing.

I wouldn't give up, it takes a lot of persistence to get anything out of these dating sites.

Pof is full of singles moms, especially the young ones who are unable to go out and meet people due to having a permanent mortgage called a child.

It also appears to depend on the area. I signed up a couple of years ago (just a bare profile and no picture) to see what it was like and the girls in my local area were all like that. Went back on again last week and moved my location and now suddenly there are dozens of eligible females and hardly a single mum in sight.

I'm going to give this one a reply and see how it goes. She's obviously taken the time to read my profile. Try anything once :p

Guess it depends how old you are. Teens and twenties then no IMO, it will just weigh you down too much. At least IMO but I'm not the kind of guy that wants to settle down any time soon!

Alright guys, never in my life thought I would sign up for a dating site, but I've gotten a bit bored recently and wanted to start meeting random people and do more things haha.
Wasn't really looking for anything serious, as I'm a uni student, just looking for a casual chat and then see what happens from there, if anything I expand my friend groups and have a good time.

Been on there for 3 days now, in good conversation with around 4 girls, I find it pretty hard to talk over the internet to a randomer, so I am just a little bit forward and ask them if they're up for meeting in person, it seems to work! :D
