Just an observation having seen this thread in my notification emails being a bit more active lately and saw your posts and thought MisChief.. Oh hai, Single... Huh! WTF!
It happens, just one of those things to be honest, there's not much I could have done about it after I found out, although if you'd have asked me that a few years ago I'd have most likely given a response involving a blunt rusty spoon and eye sockets
I'm fine in social situations, just useless these days at speaking to girls as anything other then friends, hence feeling that internet dating or something similar is the best route as you both know what you're on the site for and such there's no misguided perceptions, well in theory!
To be honest. I have no idea what happened.
She just did the "We need to talk" thing which went on to "Let's try and fix it" and then "Actually, I don't want to fix it" followed by "I'm leaving you" and "I'm going back to Finland".
I'm quite impressed by PoF though. I signed up last week and got chatting to someone really nice towards the end of the week. I took her out for dinner on Saturday night (quiet country pub, good food, good wine, romantic atmosphere) and now we're "officially" dating. We ended the evening with a lovely kiss.
She's really sweet and I'm over the moon.

Miffed that PoF have started charging for the Viewed Me function! I wouldn't have minded if they introduced a new feature and started charging for that, but to charge for something that's been free for sod knows how long, smacks of money grabbing of the highest level.

Deleted all my accounts, dates were costing too much money and met a fair few bad matches as they were totally different to their profiles. Just 'split up' with the final one as after 3 dates she was so needy it was beyond belief. Single life for me

No need to spend much money on dates at all really.
True but the whole process is a lot easier and less taxing on the mind if you have a few drinks or go out for a full night out. Especially living in the middle of Manchester most things are going to to cost money, usually end up drinking.
/edit... I also seemed to meet a few that thought it was acceptable to expect me to pay for everything.
I am happy to pay for everything, but then I'm fairly well off and I'm quite old fashioned.
Unfortunately I'm not. I don't mind being the gentleman and paying for most 'events' it's when its absolutely everything they expect to paid for. Equal rights! I haven't got that kind of cash.
