I don't like the favourites coming down the right hand side of the window. Can this be changed ?

No, those are fixed but it only takes a few days to get used to them being there. You can enable the menu bar to have them on the left.

IE9 has Tracking Protection (Lists) built in as standard (under Tools:Safety menu), the fanboy list has been adapted to block full Ads, not just tracking elements. Blurb from IE9 itself says:

Some of the content, images, ads, and analytics that you see on the websites you visit are provided by outside or third-party websites. While this content can provide value to both you and your favorite websites, these third-party websites have the ability to potentially track your behavior across multiple sites. Tracking Protection provides you an added level of control and choice about the information that third-party websites can potentially use to track your browsing activity.

With Tracking Protection Lists, you can choose which third-party sites can receive your information and track you online. By adding a list, you can block content from websites that might have an impact on your privacy. When you add a Tracking Protection List, Internet Explorer will prevent your information from being sent by limiting data requests to websites in the list. For each list that you add, the setting applies across all pages and websites you visit, not just the pages you get the lists from. And each time you begin a new browsing session, the blocking stays on until you decide to turn it off.

Gracias!

EDIT: I'm a bit behind on this since I use Chrome mostly but does this mean as more browsers become HTML5 ready, Silverlight and Flash and plugins will start to be phased out? Doesn't HTML5 do everything they do?

Went looking for an offline installer there and came across this.

What do you guys make of...

If you’re 64-bit user since 32bit IE9 runs faster than 64bit IE9 on 64-bit Windows 7, read installing 32bit version of IE9 on Version of Windows 7.

This Final release works better for me than the RC, with which I had problems with java, also Final appears to be a bit quicker in opening webpages...

I have just installed IE9 and I do like it.
Is it possible to have speed dials ? Of all the extensions that I have used for FF that is the one I would most like to have in IE, well there are others but the speed dial one is something that I used a lot.
