Pulling away from the iPad launch thread...

I'm happy so far. The camera on lock screen is a nice touch, and for whatever reason, Personal Hotspot is now an option that I didn't have before 5.1 (O2, 4S). I haven't really had any battery problems with phantom usage, but maybe I'll see an improvement in overall life.

Edit: As pointing out in the launch thread, as soon as you upgrade to 5.1, all Apple apps require an update (this isn't restricted to GarageBand, Pages etc, it even means iBooks, Remote, iTunes U etc).

I will be especially interested in whether or not this fixes the battery issues some people are experiencing :)

I'm still waiting for the day Apple just let your wallpaper show on the lock screen whilst charging instead of the humongous battery logo! :(

Battery usage seems sorted on my ip4.
2hrs standby and 45mins usage and im on 98%.
Before 5.1 I'd be down to the low 90s easily

Not really worth the upgrade until a jailbreak comes out. Hope it gets jailbroken nice and quickly. With the length of time it took for 5.0, though, I'm not too hopeful.

Very much hoping 5.1 solves the low memory Safari crashes on my wife's 1st gen iPad. She's all but stopped using it recently because it crashes so frequently.

Has made little difference to battery life for me.

Fully charged last night then taken off charge just before I went to bed at around 11.30pm. Used for about 15 mins so far this morning and I have:

Usage: 1h27m
StandBy: 9h40m
Battery:87%

When I looked at it this morning the battery was at 94%, so 6% in about 8 hours which wasn't too bad but it's dropped another 7% since then.

anyone had any trouble installing. downloaded quick enough but has been "preparing the update" for 20 minutes or so

edit: its moved on now. taking ages though. hate doing this crap.

Currently at:

48%
Usage: 2 hours 51 minutes
Standby: 10 hours 16 minutes

Which is a big improvement to me personally. My phone was only replaced by Apple last Friday too so battery could probably do with some more cycles as well :)
