It seems apple have now introduced 'double click' on the calendar at least.

I am in the process of restoring to 8.4.1. I wish Apple would still sign iOS 6. The past point in iPhone was the 4S and iOS6. After this things started to go downhill

Choosing an icloud bacup it says

'Enter the password for [email protected] to use for store purchases (including the app store, itunes store and ibooks store) what the hell is this email address, its not mine!!

Is this a backup relating to the file I used to restore 'iPhone7,2_8.4.1_12H321_Restore.ipsw'

At least ive backed up photos to my PC before doing this, god knows whats happening now its restoring settings. Maybe ill get someone elses contacts and data!?

Is it possible for icloud to restore from computer lan connection instead of wifi? Its taking ages and my wifi tops out at 40Mbps whereas LAN is 100Mbps

edit - is it also possible to revoert to the old Apple music player? 8.4.0 or 8.3.* maybe. The one is 841 seems to blend the album cover with the text making it somtimes impossible to read what you are actually playing, especially in bright light. Brown album cover with light brown text isnt exactly east to read when the sun is out!

Is anyone else suffering from numbers not being identified as contacts? I've found it seems to happen when I have the number saved as "07..." rather than "+44 7...". The lockscreen shows the number as the "+44 7...." version when I get a message, for example.

I saw that but dismissed it as some privacy feature. I think it was showing a message on the lock screen after a phone restart before I had entered my passcode. Guess it could also be a bug relating to the new number lookup feature?

I really don't like the new app switcher. It's seems to lag like crazy on both my iPad Air 2 and my iPhone 6 Plus. After I've launched it once it settles down to being smooth again but it's really rather jarring having everything slow down to say 15 fps for a split second when you double tap the home button.

Also, battery life seems to be a lot worse on my Air 2, mainly when it's not being used. Previously, it would use maybe 1 or 2% per day in standby. Now it seems to be using 10% to 20% per day without being touched. The new "Battery" section in settings says that only Gmail is doing anything in the background and it used 1%. What's worrying is it says that the homescreen is using 15%.

Yep, I had it. It was only for text messages, only on my iPhone and happened irrespective of if I had the contact saved with the number as 07... or +447...

iMessages were fine and text messages when forwarded to my iPad were also fine.

From googling it seems to be a problem that's been around for some time but I couldn't find a way of solving it. I tried all sorts of things but in the end I turned my iPhone off, sent a text from my work mobile then powered on my iPhone again. Since then it has been OK. Quite why that seems to have sorted it though I have no idea.

Try settings > messages > Send and receive.

This should show you signed in at the top with phone no and email address you can be reached at. phone no greyed out. New conversations generally come from mobile phone no but email can be set too

Also Settings > itunes and app store > make sure its signed in with apple ID at the top

Check Settings > General > restrictions. Specifically contact restrictions. I personally have restrictions disabled.

The send and receive settings do mess up from time to time, usually after a restore. It will only send from the icloud email address instead of phone number which I have seen from a few of my friends and my number once to a friend. Annoying but east to sort.

Signing in and out of appstore on the setting normally sorts it, if not a phone restart when its switched off, then log in when restarted

A bug in iOS 9 lets anyone see all of a person’s pictures or contact information, even if they have locked their phone.

A very quick workaround, which uses Siri, lets people into the phone even if the passcode and Touch ID fingerprint sensor is turned on.

To exploit the bug, would-be hackers repeatedly mash the numbers on the passcode screen until the iPhone threatens to lock the user out. Speaking to Siri to help open the Clock app, and then clicking through, allows people unfettered access to the Photos and Contacts app, potentially making available personal data.

The exploit has been shown in a proof-of-concept video by Jose Rodriguez, who has a track record of finding similar bugs in iOS. Rodriguez confirmed that the phone was not his to Apple Insider.

The bug can be easily prevented by heading to Settings and choosing Touch ID & Passcode. Turning off Siri when the phone is locked stops the hack from working.

So you can all make your pictures secure and not suffer a jlaw ;)

I'm finding this to be really unstable on my iPhone 6.

Has anyone run into the issue where launching the music app just produces a white screen with the normal bottom bar?
I have a feeling it could be related to not having an internet connection when launching it but it means I can't listen to any of my own music?!

Any idea why the new Adblock apps don't work on older devices (even on ios9)? Web pages with overlay and intrusive ads are annoying and take forever to load.

It only works on 64-bit devices for performance reasons (or that's apples explanation).

Personally it sounds bad for business if Apple make too many of the old devices recieve the obvious performance bump that blocking ads on the mobile web gives.
