Unsurprisingly they didn't have any in stock for exchange but hassle free refund and hopefully pick up a replacement during the week.
 
Managed to pick up the last one in stock today after trying my 2 local stores without luck since returning the last one. First thing I did was check for bad pixels this time and thankfully have absolutely zero this time around. :)
 
Apple has succeeded in their mission

mini is high in demand at the moment, people paying way over the odds on them on ebay

You use the HD ones.

Had mine for a couple of days and am loving it. Also finding a real use for the split keyboard on portrait mode now. The size and weight make it easy to hold in both hands while lying down and be able to thumb type.

Sure it's not retina but the screen is hardly bad looking, much better than my iPad 2 looked :p

Anyone tried the Belfast Apple Store for iPad Mini 16GB stock? Looking to pick one up before Christmas, but of course stocks are low everywhere. Gonna try tomorrow maybe myself.

I did about a week and a half ago. They only had the higher end models and state they don't know when they're going to get more stock in. Glad I had ordered online beforehand.
 
Stock is really problematic it seems, I ordered one for my other half 2 weeks ago (Apple online) and the estimated delivery is December 27th :/ bit sucky but what can you do.
 
Yeah a lot of the delivery times make no sense. My mate ordered his about 10 hours after me and he got his nearly 2 days before me. This was on the last day that they guaranteed delivery for Christmas.

My initial delivery date was the 18th though so you never know. :)
 
Mine arrived today (waited most of today for it coming..).

Been told that I'm not allowed it though :p

(will have to have a sneaky check to make sure it arrived okay...)

Damn. May just get the 16GB+3G version if they don't have the standard Wifi in stock. Some places online still have the 16GB+3G available.

I ordered one on 2nd December (16gb black wifi) and had the same estimated delivery date and it arrived yesterday. Though annoyingly it arrived after I'd found one elsewhere so now it's time to test the Apple RMA service.
 
We unexpectedly got 5 white 16gb wifi ones in the other day and despite having spent all day telling everyone we weren't going to get any 16gb wifis at all they lasted about 43 minutes or something stupid.
 
Well I just bought a 16GB+3G from Sainsburys, seems to be the only place to have them. Should get it this week sometime.
 
What's the battery life like in comparison to the normal iPad?

I have an iPad 3rd gen and I'm constantly baffled by the amount of battery it has :p
 
Question.... With the SD kit do you have to import the images before you can view them full screen? I.e. I'm looking at getting a 7" tablet so I can view images on a bigger screen while away without the need to take my air. I shoot RAW and can shoot 32GB plus on a trip so would prefer to get the 16gb mini and just view from the card without filling up the device easily...
