Picked up a White 64GB today. Was initially going for the 32GB but I couldn't find any in stock so decided I might as well trump up another £80 and gain another 32GB of storage!

Tempted to get one myself. Took the notion of a tablet, was about to order the Nexus 7, but the landscape real estate concerns me. Just looks really narrow viewing websites on it, whereas the iPad mini is wider by a decent amount.

Price is a bit bleh, but got a bonus I wasn't expecting.

Ipad mini

Hi guys, im planning on buying an Ipad Mini for a christmas present but its pretty difficult to get hold of one here at the moment for a reasonable price. If i bought one from India and had a friend bring it over would it work properly in the UK?

Yes, and the warranty is worldwide too so would be fine

Only thing I'm not 100% on is if the 3G/4G would work ok, I'm guessing they're not country specific so should be ok

Warranty is only worldwide for non-cellular products. Anything that takes a SIM the warranty is only valid in the country of purchase.

Not quite. You still get the limited 12 month Apple warranty. Beyond that it comes down to statutory rights and the burden is on the customer to prove the defect was present at purchase.

Just ordered a 32GB Black Wifi model at Argos. It seems they have the 16gb and 32gb for the black wifi model in stock at the moment!

In the week and a bit I've had mine I haven't picked up it's bigger counter part once. Absolutely awesome little device.

Unfortunately noticed a stuck pixel today and what's been seen can't be unseen so it's going back

Will probably have to get a refund as I doubt they will have any new stock for replacement on a Sunday a week into December.

Massive oversight from me, I thought the ipad mini had built in GPS as that was one of the main reasons to buy one. The cellular one is just too much for me, even though I'll be buying this over in the States.

yeah its the same for the big one, only the cellular version has proper GPS in it

I'd easily go for the mini myself (even more so if it's for a 'mum'), but it's hard to be specific without more info.
