iPad Mini...

So who's getting one??. I might pick one up depending on the prices of them ie as long as they arent stupidly priced but knowing Apple im sure they will be:p. Even though i have the BB playbook, i can see a use for the ipad mini as in apps. a lot of apps that id like arent available on my playbook unfortunately so to bridge that gap i might pick up an ipad mini.

What sort of specs are we looking at?? retina screen?? i imagine they will be come in 16gb, 32gb and 64gb and will be wifi and 3G ready, much like the normal ipads??

I'll be buying parents one for Xmas.
Was looking at getting them a Kindle Fire HD but they have iPhones so might as well make use of Apples Cloud.

You've not been reading the rumour sites. ;)

No retina display and no 3G are predicted so far. It'll basically be the same as the iPad 2 but smaller. iPad 2 might even be phased out then so that if you want a bigger screen you have to get iPad 3.

Nope i never read any 'apple' rumour sites as i have you lot in here to keep me up to date:p.

Thats a shame if theres no retina display :/. Not really bothered about 3G as well.

I'll have to go and look at one before i shell out any hard earned monies:p

Think I'll probably get one regardless of specs. Anything is better than my iPod touch (first gen) which is stuck on iOS 3. :D

rumours are 1024x768 :)

So similar to what my BB playbook is packing at the moment...well the playbook is 1024x600 so the mini is slightly more by the looks of it, if the rumours are true.

Still bit of a fail not to have a retina screen on it, would have looked immense imo.

Still ill check one out and if im suitably impressed then ill pick one up to go along with my playbook. Would love to get an ipad 3 but the size is just off putting, for the 7 inches is perfect for portability.

If this comes to true I doubt they'll revert back to non-retina. It's one of there new main selling points. However... It could be a marketing ploy to get this one out and then it's an easy update. Just like the camera that was absent in the iPad1 but present in the iPad2, easy upgrade for them to produce and sell.

Do people think from a competitive edge that they would put a retina screen on the Ipad Mini? if the aim is for this to blow other 7 inch tablets out of the water like the Nexus 7 which has a 1200 x 800 display I believe then adding Retina would justify the price increase. Although knowing apple it being an apple product itself justifies the difference in price.

I hope they do put a Retina Display on it but I can't see them doing it, I am very intrigued to see what the price is if it does get released.
Do you guys think this will replace the Ipad 2?

I know its not going to happen but an iPad Mini with Retina, A6 CPU and all day battery would be an instant purchase. If it is a smaller iPad 2 then I will wait until next year.

They'll probably adopt the same kind of approach as with iPhone and iPod touch. The iPod is always one gen of CPU behind so I would think the same would be true of iPad and the mini.

Yeah, I'm with ya. After looking forward to getting one, I'm now thinking next year. If they introduce a retina screen and 4G.

Right now I definitely plan to get one as it's pretty much my ideal size after using the iPad 2 daily since I've owned it for the last 18 or so months. But I was also convinced I would upgrade the iPad 2 to the 3 and didn't when it was finally released and same with the iPhone 5.

So if the specs are pretty underwhelming compared to the price then I may wait another year. IE if it doesn't have retina now you can be pretty sure it will in the next revision.
