iPhone 2.0 firmware available now

I'm back up and running, minus SMS :( Just going out though, been rushing to get it in a state where I can use it.

Could the Mail problems be due to it syncing with Windows Mail? Don't know why it was turned on anyway, but it's not anymore. APPLE, GIVE US SELECTIVE SETTINGS RESTORES!
 
Think there's some kind of settings conflict, not due to the jailbroken element. Other people have reported upgrading proper 1.1.4 and having Mail not working...

Yeah, to clarify, as above. Wiping it using the new firmware works fine. It was only when I restored my settings that it fell over.
 
Ah phew panic over, thought I'd killed it because I got that error and it wouldn't proceed with the upgrade and it wouldn't boot any more. Managed to restore it to 1.1.4 on my laptop and then complete the upgrade and restore the backup to 2.0 on my main pc.

Can I get an iTunes account without giving them my card details?

How cool is Shazam? Beats paying for it like you previously had to!
 
Shazam was the 3rd app I dl'd, love it!

From the Where page in iTunes: "Due to the remarkable volume of user love, the app may not loads on the first try. We are working around the clock so you can join the fun! Thanks you for your patience"

edit: Grr, I had facebook, remote and Shazam installed and working fine (installed from the iPhone). I installed some more apps from my computer, synced it, and now none of them work - they just load a black/white screen or for facebook the logo bar at the top and buttons at the bottom then close in a few seconds back to the home screen. Any ideas why?

edit2: fixed, by deleting all apps and redownloading.

anyone else having issues with 'push' not working. My mail is working fine, and in the settings its set to Push, but it still only looks for mail when I do it manually. My calendar isn't syncing either.

Am I missing something, is there anything else I need to do, im using my works exchange account and it defiantly supports it as my old phone used to work with push fine.

Last resort is to wipe the thing and set it all up from scratch, dont really want to do that though.
 
Anyone with a jailbroken 1.14 upgraded to 2.0 and still able to us a non iphone contract sim in it?

Thats what im curious about lol. this is on the 2g phone btw :D
 
I'm another one who had to do the wipe and restore to get 2.0 working properly, had issues with new applications not starting, and most annoyingly, the mail application broke! All sorted now though, it's nice feeling 'legit' for once ;)

Just thinking for everyone else, will doing a 'restore' on a 1.1.4 phone get and apply the new firmware, while also allowing the previous settings NOT to be backed up and reapplied as part of the upgrade (which seems to be the cause of the problems)?

You always have the option of setting it up as a new device after a restore.

And yes, restore will grab the latest firmware available.
