Is anyone having signal problems when your phone is in your pocket? I noticed that each time I take my phone out of my pocket, I'm only showing 1 bar of reception. I'm worried that when in my pocket, its actually not getting a service.

I'm absolutely gutted. Just returned mine before it's even arrived (UPS tried to deliver twice but the dense wife forgot and went out twice).

Pleased in a way really as this is unacceptable for a £500 quid phone. Hell, I couldn't hack the cack battery in the HTC Desire so it had to go. Dropping calls when I hold the phone is going to drive me wild.

Found this, kinda made me laugh :)

wireless makes no difference, i get a full signal at work and cant get it to drop signal, at home without a strong signal i can, go try it elsewhere, it will happen.

I managed to make 3 phones in the apple store to drop signal from 5bars 3G to 1 bar EDGE, all had full signal to start off with.

I cant get mine to drop either, however I've only had it since 12 today and haven't been out of the house to try anywhere else yet.

EDIT: lol didn't take long when i put some effort into it. I can drop it from 5 bars (no 3g edge) down to no service.

What I have to do to actually do this is pretty retarded however. I have to have damp hands and apply pressure way in excess of what i usually would.

Slightly annoying but I cant see it having any bearing on my use of the phone.

Just keep the iphone in great condition.

IF apple are forced to change the sets then you have the year warranty.

Even if they dont, wait 6months and moan to a genius with your perfect iphone 4 and hell swap it out.

ok if anyone is having problems getting it to loose connection try the following. Worked for me.

Get two pair of socks, shove one inside the other. Now wrap it around the base of the phone and tie it into a knot. Just make sure it's as tight as you can get it.

Wait for 10-20 seconds. You should start to see the signal drop and eventually display 'NO SERVICE'

Mine does exactly the same thing.

Holding it browsing Safari in a natural position. After 30seconds I lose the network or slows to a crawl. Tried to find a new position to hold it in. Very unnatural grasping with finger tips rather than in the palm of my hand. Not impressed at all.

I went to my local Apple store today about this problem and they admitted that when the phone is held in that way it does lose signal. I told them all their demo ones have this problem and if they replaced my phone it would just have the same problem so in the end they give me a free bumper, they didn't take down any of my details which was good ;)

Ok as I'm new to the world of iPhones, is it right that there is no text message or call timers counters (other than the total call duration that includes inbound and outbound)? That seems an odd thing to not include in a phone this technologicially advanced! lol

Well its not an unrealistic thing to want is it?

Unrealistic? No, probably not.

Something to mark the phone down for? I don't think so, no.

I can't think of any reason I would ever, or have ever, needed such a counter built into the phone. If I was ever curious how many texts I'd used or whatever, I just login to my O2 account.

Out of utter curiosity, does Android offer such a thing?

(I also fear this is kinda taking this thread off-topic. Really a discussion for the main thread, not the iPhone 4 Problems thread)
