*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

I've been told that the screen may have a yellowish tint for the first few days of use due to a type of glue that is used which needs time to set (or something like that :p). Basically - don't cry until you've had a few days of use out of the thing and it's still yellow :p

Nope, that's a different thing.

you know thats only to stop them arriving damaged which you could check for by opening a box before you pay for it?

The way I read it is they're not doing anything to help it not get scratched easily in use?

I can't believe I haven't got one yet to be honest! The novelty has worn off already and work haven't even pulled their finger out to get us handsets and I bet half of you have bought the stuff I've sold to go with it!

I wouldn't damage it anyway, so getting one in pristine condition is my main concern.

Well, I got my black iPhone 5 a couple of weeks ago and (coming from the Galaxy S 3) I'm really impressed with it.

It was mostly as I expected but the overall performance is top notch. It's really, really fast and smooth, which is immediately noticeable even compared to a 4S, and the battery life is solid as well, quite similar to my iPhone 4 which was the best battery performance I've had out of a smartphone recently. The quality and performance (and even selection) of the apps is still significantly better than on Android, at least for what I use. Even more so for games (not that I use many).

If you like iOS, you really can't pick any faults with this phone, it's right at the top of its game. The feel and design is second to none as well, usually phones lose the premium feel when they get lighter, but not the iPhone, it feels just as good as it has since the iPhone 4.

Anyone else find the novelty of the iPhone 5 has worn off? I've had mine since launch and have just been updating my wife's 4S and actually found myself preferring the shorter slightly fatter feel of it. Admittedly the iPhone 5 looks slightly nicer but in terms of feel I actually prefer the 4S. Sadly it seems the Home button on hers is dying, that'll be the 3rd iPhone in a row where one of the buttons has failed :(

Nope, it's excellent. The screen makes quite a difference once you're used to it, it's also slightly quicker and the battery life is better.

Seriously debating my new Iphone 5 I got for valentines day, I already have a Iphone 4 and for some reason I'm just not Excited to get the Iphone 5. Like it doesn't have any new exciting features which I am looking forward too. Speed wise there might be a little difference opening up apps but it 1-3 seconds really that much of a difference?

I was about to write a list of things you're missing out but then I noticed who the poster was.

To anyone else, don't waste your time.

Because you cant list 10 good reasons for it that's why..

I literally have it in the box still in front of me, I just don't feel any rush or excitement to crack it open and start using it.

There are plenty of good reasons, but you ignore them as you can't get said item. Quite simple, you do it every time a new product is released. Over and over again. Boring.

Not really, I just use common sense and don't upgrade my iPhone 4s to a Iphone 5 because of the completely pointless upgrade in terms of hardware.

I am going from the 4 to the 5, that is a noticeable difference. so that's acceptable.

What on earth are you talking about, you didn't mention the iPhone 4S earlier...

If you think the iPhone is boring (this is your issue it seems, not the size of the upgrade), why not get an Android phone. I suspect you have one anyway, going by your posts in this particular subforum. ;)

The screen on the iPhone 5 feels pretty small, the one on the 4/4S now feels ridiculously small so I'm glad they've made it bigger. There are numerous other good points but you'll say they are pointless on a phone and all the usual guff, so I won't get into that.

It isn't just phones though, it's every single product thread in this forum. Everything is a pointless upgrade unless the previous version is extremely old. The only person you're trying to convince is yourself. :D

Normal slide to unlock opens the app if you unlock the phone immediately (after you get a message), after a short while it reverts back to a normal unlock I believe.
